It is highly desirable to complete at least one Visual Art course in Year 10 before embarking upon Visual Art ATAR or General courses.
Semester Course
Studio Design has been developed as a stepping stone to the senior ATAR/General courses, but this does not limit the course to those who are just interested in pursuing their fine arts development.
Within this course, you will focus on 2-dimensional artworks, developing your life drawing skills along with colour mixing and theory, with an element of 3-dimensional work built into your projects. A self driven course of personal development and research, you will engage in visual arts practice, involving the exploration and development of ideas through the use of a range of art techniques and processes. Studio Focus areas include, but are not limited to; graphite, collage, watercolours and/or acrylic painting, printmaking, mixed media works and more.
Semester Course
Do you enjoy a hands on approach to your creative work? Do you want to further develop your creative skills when it comes to taking a 2-dimensional design and turning it into a 3-dimensional product? This course is designed for all those who are interested in developing their uniqueness and individuality, along with building creative abilities.
Whilst Art & Design has a 3-dimensional emphasis, drawing is a compulsory component of all successful art projects and as such you will develop your drawing skills alongside your studio work. Art and Design areas include, but are not limited to ceramics, textiles, sculpture, constructions in metal, plastic, wood, and fabric in freestanding, kinetic and decorative fashions.
Semester Course
The Film Production course is a hands-on course where you will learn the fundamentals of the film making design process. You will learn about framing and composition of shots and how to apply them in a consistent, thematic approach.
You will use the Adobe Premiere Pro for editing all your footage and audio into seamless projects with the opportunity to use Adobe After Effects to make your own special effects to add to your productions. All projects are hands-on with enticing challenges to bring your creative skills to the forefront. This course will help prepare students for Media & Visual Art in years 11 and 12.
