Humanities and Social Sciences consists of four inter-related disciplines: Civics and Citizenship, Economics and Business, Geography and History.
Concepts covered will include:
The ancient world and the development of key ideas such as democracy.
The scarcity of water and its impact on Australia.
The reasons why people live in the places that they live.
Work, getting and utilising an income, producing and consuming.
Development of the Australian constitution.
Roles and responsibilities in Australian parliaments and governments.
Underpinning the development of essential knowledge are associated skills such as inquiry, analytical, evaluation and communication skills.
The courses are designed to not only develop skills associated with Humanities, but also to help improve the literacy and numeracy skills of the cohort.
