YEAR 9 HUMANITIES

Humanities and Social Sciences consists of four inter-related disciplines: Civics and Citizenship, Economics and Business, Geography and History.

Concepts covered will include:

• How political parties work for our votes.

• How people participate in democratic processes.

• Key features of Australia's court system.

• Key participants in the Australian economy.

• Participation in the global economy.

• Biomes and food security.

• Industrial Revolution

• World War One

Underpinning the development of essential knowledge, are associated skills such as inquiry, analytical, evaluation and communication skills.

The courses are designed to not only develop skills associated with Humanities, but also to help improve the literacy and numeracy skills of the cohort.
