The school’s mission statement speaks to creating lifelong learners. The programs below are designed to expose students to real life, authentic tasks and show that, like Jesus, one person can change the world.
Students are guided through a series of tasks to build problem solving skills whilst remaining true to the core philosophy:
Creativity
Autonomy
Authenticity
Critical thinking
Communication
Collaboration
As well as developing critical thinking skills, students are exposed to social justice issues in order to continue their journey towards contributing to our community as strong, young Christians.
Challenge Based Learning, a semester-long course, offers the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge that are essential for Year 9 students, who are living and working in this globally connected society of the 21st century. CBL is a practical bridge between ‘learning’ and ‘doing’, and has the following distinguishing features.
A student-centred approach
Cross curricular
Collaboration
Real world issues
Anywhere, anytime
Action based
Students will explore two components during a semester, “Start Your Own Business” and “Challenge Based Learning” within a common theme.
