what is SAFAL?

Structured Assessment for Analyzing Learning (SAFAL), is a competency-based diagnostic assessment to measure the achievement level of students of grades 3, 5 and 8 being conducted by the Board as per the recommendation of the National Education Policy, 2020. 

SAFAL was conducted by CBSE in 1887 affiliated schools as a pilot in February 2023. Your school successfully participated in this assessment.

SAFAL 2024-25 is scheduled to be held in July 2024 for students of grades 5 and 8. The nodal IT teachers of the participating schools play a critical role in the conduct of SAFAL. These teachers require training and hand-holding during the process.

The Computer Teacher of your school has successfully steered the SAFAL Pilot (Feb 2023) and the registration process for SAFAL 2024-25 in your school. This valuable experience can be of great value to other nodal IT teachers from participating schools.

Hence, the Computer Teacher of your school (who helped to conduct SAFAL Pilot in 2023-24) has been nominated as the Master Trainer (MT) for SAFAL 2024-25. These MTs will be required to undertake online/ offline training sessions for IT nodal teachers and help schools resolve problems during the conduct of SAFAL 2024-25.

Background questionnaire links (School, Teacher and Student

We are sharing the three background questionnaire links (School, Teacher and Student) which are to be filled up by the participating school during the SAFAL Pilot as per the schedule given at the Page no 10-11 in the guidelines.

Please Note:

1. School questionnaire to be filled up by the Principal/School Head in between 08th Feb 2023 to 23rd Feb 2023. It needs to be filled up once only.

2. Teacher questionnaire to be filled up by the respective subject teachers of Grade 5 and 8 only once. Concerned subject level teachers should fill the Teacher questionnaire in between 08th Feb 2023 to 23rd Feb 2023.

3. Student Questionnaire to be filled up by the students whose names are there in the generated Roll List during SAFAL Pilot of Grade 5 and 8 respectively. Students of Grade 8 need to fill the questionnaire from 08th Feb 2023 to 15th Feb 2023 and Grade 5 students from 16th Feb 2023 to 23rd Feb 2023. Each student to fill the Student questionnaire only once.

4. The google forms will be activated on 08th Feb 2023 and shall be deactivated on 23rd Feb 2023.  Schools are requested to adhere to the above timings.
