The Magnolia Elementary counselor went to every class and discussed the importance of No Place for Hate before having our students all make the pledge together. The pledge was also delivered as a school at the November assembly. In addition, the students signed cut-out hands to signify they participated in the pledge. In collaboration with our school's Kindness Club these were then made into a tree displayed in the front office.
For Unity Day, our Kindness Club led students of all grades in fun, inclusive teamwork activities during lunch. Earlier in the day, students across the school created “kindness chains,” with each student writing about how they show kindness and support others in building a positive environment at Magnolia. These chains were then connected and displayed at the front of the school for the community to see. Together, these student-led efforts created a positive atmosphere that highlighted kindness, connection, and teamwork.
