Students at CVA/CSA created a No Place for Hate video as a way to present the pledge to each students and staff member.
For their first activity of the year, students explored their lived experiences and the power they have to make a positive difference in my community. Students then documented this reflection in the Seaside Story Book and donated the proceeds of the book to feed homeless families in Carlsbad. Video
For their second activity of the year, the No Place for Hate team organized an activity around the power of words and reflected on how we can create a place of belonging for all students.
For their final activity of the year, The No Place for Hate Committee focused on noticing bias in our everyday lives and engaged in the reflection question, “What can you do to make our public spaces—our schools, our parks, our stores, our restaurants as welcoming as they can be?”
