REQUESTS DUE BY May 15, 2026
Traffic through Point 1 is restricted to what is truly necessary to facilitate infrastructure in BRC during Build Week and Event Week. Please see the Point 1 Usage Policy for who qualifies.
Department Managers/Directors are the only individuals who are able to request Point 1 wristbands for their department. If you are not and manager need a Point 1 wristband for work related purposes, please contact your manager with this request.
The person who requests the Point 1 wristbands is the only person who is authorized to pick up the wristbands on playa. If you need to designate someone else to pick up your wristbands, please contact either the Magpie or Fowler to approve someone else to pick up your wristbands.
Please disseminate Point 1 rules and process to your staff. If you have questions, please ask us!
Point 1 is absolutely NOT to be used as a "staff lane" and should not be referred to as such. BMP has too many people who are considered "Staff" to accomodate this at point 1. Please respect this boundary as we do not have the staffing levels or budget to process unnecessary traffic though Point 1. Unnecessary traffic can also hold up ESD or DPW operations and you really don't want that! We have a city to build, keep safe, and be serviced!
Instructions:
Read the rules above and the FAQ below before submitting your request.
Department Managers only: please fill out the form below with your request for the number of Point 1 wristbands. Please only request the number you actually need for event operations.

FAQ
I'm "staff", why can't I use Point 1?
BMP has a large number of seasonal staff and volunteers who are also considered "staff". Not even GPE Staff get this privilege unless their job requires it. GPE can only process a certain amount of traffic with the staffing levels/budget available. It is also very important that we do not have lines when service trucks, DPW Transpo, Law Enforcement, and ESD vehicles need immediate access to keep our city safe and healthy. Please respect the access point for what it is intended for, spoiler alert- it's NOT a "staff lane!" Sorry.
Where do I pick up my wristbands?
If you are a manager who filled out the request form above, you can pick up your wristbands at the ELT meeting on playa after GPE management announces they are available. If you miss that meeting, please slack Fowler to arrange pick up.
What if I need more wristbands than I originally requested?
If you need more wristbands for work related and neccessary event operations access, please contact the Magpie or Fowler.
I don't want to wait in lines at the gate or during exodus, is there anything I can do?
Yes! Please allow extra travel time for your entry so that you are able to make it to your first day of work on time! Typically the shortest travel times are in the very early morning between midnight and 6am but it always depends on weather condidtions and everyone elses travel decisions. You can tune in to GARS (95.1FM) for updated travel times (between greeters and the intersection of Gate Road and CR 34) to determine if it is a good time to travel on Gate Road. The best thing to do is give yourself plenty of time and listen to the radio updates for the best times to exit.
I need to do laundry, can I use point 1?
Not during Build Week or Event Week. We are sorry but this entry point is not used for staff convenience during this time. It is critical that the traffic required to maintain BRC infrastructure is able to have quick access to the city. Please plan ahead and avoid Point 1 during those two weeks unless your job requires you to leave playa.
Curious what you ordered last year? Please slack Fowler (fastest) or email fowler@burningman.org
If your request is NOT approved, GPE Management will contact you. Otherwise, you can assume we will fulfill your request!
