What is the Grey Water Holding Tank Request? 🚰♻️
The Gray Water Holding Tank Request system provides staff departments with holding tanks for managing wastewater from sinks and showers. If your team is setting up a potable water system, you’ll also need to submit a Grey Water Holding Tank Request to ensure proper drainage and disposal.
This request process allows departments to:
âś… Reserve a 250-gallon grey water holding tank for approved plumbing setups
âś… Be automatically placed on the grey water pumping schedule upon approval
âś… Indicate expected water usage to help assess the appropriate pump-out schedule

These are 250-gallon tanks. If you require something different, please contact business.services@burningman.org to discuss your needs. All requests are subject to availability, approval, and placement guidelines. Departments receiving tanks are responsible for ensuring proper use and preventing overflows.
MAKING A NEW REQUEST(S):
To submit a new Sanitation request, visit the Business Services Dashboard. Once logged in, navigate to the “Request Resources” section and start a new request. On the request form select “Sanitation" from the asset type dropdown. Fill out your project details and click submit. You will receive an automated confirmation email once your request is successfully logged. Please submit a separate request for each physical location.
MAKING CHANGES TO YOUR REQUEST(S):
To make changes or cancellations, navigate back to the Business Services Dashboard, click on "My Dashboard" and then "Requested Resources". Locate the reservation you'd like to modify and click Manage. From there, you can edit each section of the request. You can edit your request as often as you like, we understand things happen and change. ALL changes are subject to availability after the initial request window closes.
WHATS THE STATUS?
You will receive a series of automated email updates to keep you informed:
Submission Confirmation: Sent immediately upon successfully submitting your request.
Approval / Denial: When the Budget Manager and DPW have both reviewed your request, you will be notified of the fullfilment decision.Â
Deployment Instructions: A detailed email regarding deployment instructions will be sent as we approach go time.
Real-Time Tracking: You can monitor the progress of your request at any time. Simply visit the Business Services Dashboard and navigate to My Dashboard > Requested Resources to view current status and updates.

*NOTE: If your grey water tank is connected to a potable water install then this call may come from the DPW Plumbing team as part of their installation routine.
