Bathurst Diocesan Winter Sport Trials Information for 2025:
The school selects students to represent at these trials.
Registration: All competitors must register on the CSNSW Sport Website for the event.
Lunches: Canteen facilities may be available at some venues. Students are reminded to bring sufficient drinks and food for the day.
Uniforms: - Students are to wear their school sports uniform or club shorts and socks if appropriate to the trials. Students are not permitted to trial if they are wearing any representative gear. Students may bring their own equipment, relevant to their sport. Relevant safety equipment for each sport is essential. Students are to supply their own safety equipment. This includes mouth guards for hockey & league and shin pads for soccer & hockey.
Ages: Please note that competitors turning 13 years of age during the current school year are NOT eligible to be selected in a NSWPSSA team. However, as long as they are made aware of this, they can be selected in a Netball, Hockey or Football Polding team and play at the NSWPSSA championships. However, they cannot be selected from that carnival to attend the national titles. 13 Year olds can not trial or play in a Diocesan or Polding Rugby League or Rugby team.
Rugby League Age Criteria:
- 13 year olds are not eligible to trial
- 11 & 12 year olds can play in the 12 Years Division (Your outstanding 11 year old could play in this division as the pathway to State selection is through the 12 Years division)
- 10 & 11 year olds can play in the 11 Years Division.

Bathurst Diocesan AFL Boys Trials Information for 2025:
The Diocesan Boys AFL trials will be held at Learmonth Park, Bathurst on Monday, 7th March 2025.
The school selects students to represent at these trials.
Students arrive at 9.00 for a 9.30 start. The trials will conclude by 1.00pm. Students must be signed in and out of the event by a parent or guardian. Students are reminded to bring sunscreen and water bottles. Students are to report to Mr Steve Maguire on the day to be marked on and off.
We have been fortunate to engage the help of Mr Will Flynn, a development officer with the AFL and Trevor Thomas from St John’s Primary Dubbo to assist us with our selections.
Registration & Levy: Students are to register on the CSNSW Sport website. To offset the costs incurred in conducting the trials, students will be levied $10.00 each. Students are not to bring the money to the trial. The Levy is to be paid on the CSNSW Sport website.
Uniform: Students are to wear their school sports uniform to the trials (and play in school or club footy shirts, shorts and socks) Students are not to wear Representative Uniforms at the trials. Students may bring their own equipment, relevant to their sport including safety equipment for each sport is essential. Students are to supply their own safety equipment. This includes mouth guards, headgear and boots etc.
A mouth guard must be worn.
Students attending the trials MUST understand that they are trials and are there to provide a pathway to State and Nationals. Therefore, if selected they make the commitment to continue along the pathway while ever they are being selected.
The Polding trials will be held in Newcastle on Tuesday, 8th April 2025.
The NSWPSSA Australian Football carnival will be held from 4th – 6th June 2024 at Blacktown.

Rugby Union Trial Information - 2025
The Diocese of Bathurst will be conducting selection trials for Rugby Union in Bathurst on Friday, 16th May 2025 (Backup Friday, 23rd May 2025).
The school selects students to represent at this trial.
At the end of the Bathurst Diocesan Rugby Trial a team will be selected to attend the respective Polding trials in Forbes Monday 30th June 2025.
Expectation of Students Attending the Trials:
As this is a representative pathway trial the students must display a high standard of ability in their chosen sport to warrant being sent to the trials. They should be involved in regular competition, have a sound knowledge of the rules of the game and a high skill level.

Age, Weight & Height Regulations: Students must be turning 11 or 12 Years in year of competition - NO EXEMPTIONS. There is also the weight and height regulation. Students height and weight needs to be entered when registering on the CSNSW Sport website.
