Information for Primary Diocesan Swimming Carnival - 2026
MEET PROCEDURES
The Diocese of Bathurst Primary Schools Swimming Carnival is to be held at the Dubbo Aquatic and Leisure Centre on Tuesday 10th March 2026.
ALL regions may nominate 3 swimmers in each individual event with 2 relay teams in each relay event. A relay team must be from one school, not a mixture of schools. Small schools may also enter in the PP5 or PP6 relay event. PP5 is for schools whose total K-6 enrolment is more than 25, but not exceeding 54 students. PP6 is for schools whose total K-6 enrolment is 25 students or less. PP5 and PP6 relay team may include boys & girls.
Please note: The one start rule applies. All protests must be submitted in writing to the Team Manager within 15 minutes of the event.
As we will be following the State PSSA. Program please note that there will be medley events at this carnival. The 200m Medley are junior and senior events, NOT 11 years medley (11years are classed as seniors). Also the 100m freestyle is an all age event.
There are multi-class events. The participants in the multi-class races will need to have a classification, if unsure please contact Steve Maguire for assistance.
All events will be timed and no finals will be swum. The three best times will receive ribbons as place getters.
Please note that times will be posted on the boards and will not be available to parents from the recording room.
Registration: All swimmers must register on the CSNSW Sport Website for the event.
Levy: A $10 levy per swimmer to cover carnival costs. This is NOT to be collected by the team manager or sent to the school. The levy is to be paid when registering on the CSNSW sport website.
Region swimming caps will be available at a stall inside the gate, these caps are compulsory (aiding in cheering and identification of students). If you child cannot wear a swimming cap please speak to your school sports coordinator. They will contact the Diocesan Sports Coordinator a decision will be made on individual cases.
Regional Colours are:
Southern – Red
Northern – Blue
Western – Gold
Eastern – Green
A canteen operates at the pool. Lunch will be provided for the officials and team managers.
The first event is timed to start at 10:00am. We aim to be finished between 2 and 3pm. The carnival will take place regardless of the weather as following carnivals are so closely scheduled. The carnival will only be cancelled at the discretion of the Pool Manager i.e. if lightning is present in this case the Diocesan Team will be selected from Regional Carnival times.
Following this carnival a Diocesan Swimming Team will be selected to compete in the Polding Swimming Carnival to be held at Homebush in Sydney on Wednesday 1st April.
The PSSA Carnival will then be held on Tuesday 28th April at Homebush Sydney.
