Reading

Watch the video of Hetty Feather Chapter 6. Then complete the Vocabulary quiz below.

Writing

So yesterday you wrote things you will say hello to once you leave lockdown, today we will be brainstorming ideas for what you will be saying goodbye to, that were normal during lockdown. So go to your Jamboard from yesterday and add a new slide to it like I have done in the video below.

After you have done your brainstorm, complete the writing in the google form below and make sure you have used a fronted adverbial! (See what I did there 😏).

To do this you need to start your sentence with an AAAWWUBBIS word. Although, As, After, While, When, Until, Before , Because, If, Since. Please make sure you punctuate with a comma after the subordinate clause!

The first 3-4 questions of my quiz is a brainstorm, so save all your creative enegry and thoughts for the actual writing!

Note: if you didn't do yesterdays Jamboard you need to do both today. Also if the link didn't work just create your own Jamboard with Hello and Goodbye stickies on it! Share it with me (Tiffany) once completed.

Topic

As we know the Victorian period was one of major technological and scientific advance in Britain. The country went through an 'industrial revolution' where machinery improved greatly allowing for more effective factories and more money coming into the country.

Last week we focussed on transport but today you will be looking at more general inevntions that benefitted society. Click on the links below to watch videos about the subject.

Your task:

What are the inventions we need today to make our country/the world a better place? What could you create that might solve a problem in society? Consider these questions and we'd like you to show us you're new invention:

You could draw a picture of your invention, make a blueprint or a google slide presentation. Either way please send it to use on class dojo along with some sort of explanation of what it is and what it does.
