Monday 4th May

NEW FEATURE: At the very bottom of this page is a new feature called 'the Worry Box'. This will be at the bottom of every day's home learning page from now on. This is an OPTIONAL form, you do not have to fill it out if you do not want/need to.

It is there in case you have any worries that are making you feel sad, angry or upset that you'd like us to know about. The form will come straight to your teachers so we can see if there is anything we can do to help. No other children will see your responses to 'the Worry Box'.

In Focus task

No workbook today! Once you have completed your quiz, go back and check through the Volume unit so far and if there were any questions that you were confused by please try to have a go at them again. You can also go through the Volume slides that Kate did in the In Focus task and have a go at the questions yourself.

Reading

ITS MIX IT UP MONDAY! Choose a book of your choice and read for enjoyment! Once you have read your book or a part of it post a video on flipgrid about your favourite genre of book and what happened in the book you just read. You can respond to what other students have read and even add it to your must read list.

I have absolutely loved having time to read in the holidays and my favourite book was a Thriller called Woman in the Window. It's about a lady who hasn't left her house in 8 months due to a phobia and spots something disastrous happening across the street. Does she have the courage to leave her house and save her neighbour?!

Looking forward to seeing these flipgrid videos!

Topic

Queen Victoria is remembered as one of our greatest monarchs. Whilst on the throne our country made huge advances in all areas of life.

Today your task is simple - research Queen Victoria, the namesake of the Victorian period, and create a short biography about her. This may be done in chronological order or you may only record the facts you find most interesting. You could do this in your exercise book or on Google slides if you'd prefer, just remember to share it with your teacher.

Use the links and videos below to help you:
