Reading!

Today we are going to read more Hetty Feather but I have realised the video format I recorded in is to small for you to read along with me! So make sure you open up the text in google classroom so you can read along!

Now that you have read the the text and answered the questions, read the instructions on how to make the Victorian Cup and Ball toy below!

I have changed my mind on how I want you to post it, I want you to post it on FLIPGRID so you can all see each others creations and respond to each other! Still awarding 5 dojo points to the people that get the most catches out of 10 throws and a dojo for each video post. Link to the flipgrid video is : https://flipgrid.com/a46affdb

Writing

Today you will be beginning to PLAN your choice based story - YOU WILL HAVE TWO DAYS TO DO THIS.

  • Choose a Quest for your reader to undertake

  • Plan choices for your reader to make

  • Plan exciting ways for your reader’s adventure to end

TIP: It is easier to start at the end and work backwards than start at the beginning.

Everyone will be basing their story in a VICTORIAN SETTING to match our topic, but within this you could have alot of creative differences. There can still be monsters/creatures to contend with, evil people and traps to get past, liars and cheats that you must beat to get to your final goal.

Step 1: The FIRST thing you must decide is WHAT IS YOUR QUEST - what do you want your character to achieve at the end of the story? Are they trying to get an item e.g. a diamond, ruby, long lost sword of an ancient queen, to gain revenge after the death of a loved one, to put a stop to an evil tyrant ruining the lives of others etc.

Step 2: Once you have done this you can start to plan out what will happen in your story. Use the Google Doc I have put on Google classroom for you as a guide. You may wish to use that structure exactly and plan your story there or do it in your exercise book and change the structure. Either is fine but your story must have multiple negative endings and a final successful ending

Have a look back at the Temple of Xacoco for some inspiration then click your google classroom link to get planning
