Crafting dead ends (deaths) and writing in the second person.
Write in the second person
Write in the present tense
Describe a death/ending with gruesome detail and originality
Today You are crafting the dead end (bottom left box, negative consequence you wrote yesterday)
Step 1. Reread yesterday's work - is it all written in SECOND PERSON. This is where a writer uses YOU instead of I or he/she to address the reader directly. It is a key feature of gamebooks. E.g. 'He jumped from the building' becomes 'You jump from the building'.
Step 2. Reread yesterday's work again and check it is all PRESENT TENSE. You want your reader to feel like things are happening then and now, not in the past. E.g. 'You looked gracefully out over the horizon' becomes 'you look gracefully out over the horizon'.
Step 3. Look at your bottom left box, the negative consequence. You may have ended with a death or perhaps another way. We'd like you to make this box as gruesome and creative as possible - what is the craziest thing you can think of to end the story? Put it in and describe it as clearly as you can! If you want to rewrite the whole box you can and if you just want to craft and edit what you've already done that's ok too.
To do this you will need to go back to yesterday's link on your google classroom and go back over your work.
