Reading

Please share with me ( Tiffany) your google slide glossary of 5 words from the text "Goodnight Mister Tom" !!! I will be awarding Dojo points for those of you that have done the task. If you need a reminder of what to do, I have linked in last Mondays video (you don't have to watch it if you know what you're doing).

Please read the text "Goodnight Mister Tom" in the CGP comprehension booklet and choose 5 ambitious words to focus on (that aren't in the glossary below).

Create a glossary including:

  • a definition (in your own words)

  • putting the word into a sentence

  • multiple synonyms (words with the same meaning) and antonyms (words with the opposite meaning) for the word

  • a picture, could be from google images or even one you have drawn!

Make sure you have a separate page or Google slide for these, as you can continue to add to it each week!

DO NOT complete the questions for this text... yet!

Writing

For the next few weeks we will be working towards writing a GAME BOOK (Choice based fiction). This is a book where you make choices to decide what will happen in the story. Everyone will have a different experience as everyone chooses different things.

We have experienced Game books before when our very own teacher Martin Noutch (Year 6) came in to share his own game book about the Steam Highwayman.

Today's task is to get used to how game books work by reading one and then share your experience with the rest of year 5 using a jam board.

Go to the link below to read the The Lost Temple of Xacoco and make choices to influence the story - Your mission is to TRY TO SURVIVE!

Once you've done this summarise how your story ended on the jamboard below - PLEASE WRITE YOUR NAME ON YOUR SUMMARY (short summaries please!!!) Did you survive? (If there's no space on the jamboard, go to the next page)
