On the week of May 5th-7th, the Boyle County Girls Tennis team played in the individual region tournament. After a good regular season, the Rebels were looking to secure a spot in the championship, and that they did!
After coming off a challenging partner switch, Seniors Maya Smith and Emma Taylor still showed up and won their doubles matches 6-0 both times. The integrity of both of these players truly shone through, despite the last-minute change. “It was the first time we had ever played together, so it was fun playing with someone different.” Smith shares.
In addition, Smith also competed with fellow Senior Hannah Bischoff also competed in doubles, and they took yet another win, further qualifying the pair for State! Despite other extracurriculars, such as theater and swim, the pair showed up and their hard work truly did pay off. “I’m really proud of how we all did. It's been a difficult season, and I think that the team came out and we did the best that we could in this region tournament, and that definitely showed in how we played and how far we made it. It was so nice to come together and make it a special season.” Bischoff shares. Next week, May 12- 15, is Team Regions. We wish all the girls competing good luck, and congratulations once again to Maya and Hannah!

This Monday, the Boyle County Girls Tennis Team went up against Lincoln County. It was a warm day outside, which is nice to see considering most of their matches have been cold.
The girls have done great this season, really showing what they can do individually, but especially as a team. Senior Emma Taylor says “As we go through this year I have really seen everyone grow and with senior night coming up it really makes me sad to go, but I know I am leaving a great team who has really put a lot of work in.”
As they start to finish out their season and have less matches, they will bring up their game to try to get a spot on the regional court. As they keep playing they are getting closer and closer to regions and states, so we expect for them to keep up the good work!

Last night, April 9th, the Boyle County Girls tennis team came home with a good win, defeating Burgin 9-0. As the team continues to improve, individuals are also focusing their aim on increasing participation and support.
The girls played hard, and in the end, they came out on top. Getting more mid-season wins like this prepares them for regionals and State, so they can come in and dominate the competition.
The coach has had many new players try different things, whether it's doing doubles or singles, or even mixing up partners. We’re proud of our girls, and we hope to continue to see them win games like this as they continue their seasons.

This weekend the Boyle County Girls Tennis played Bourbon County. Both teams put in a fight to win with a lot of tie breakers but at the end of the day Boyle came out on top with a final score of 4-1. The dynamics of team play in tennis also bring a unique element to strategy, like picking a line up of who to play, for example in tennis you have sets. Your best player is set on and so on and so forth. In conclusion it is good for the Girls tennis team to get some wins under their belt.
