This past weekend the Boyle County Cheer Team made history by going to Nationals for the first time ever. Not only did they practice for this competition, they competed in November to get a bid to go to nationals.
When the team competed at nationals they had to make it past prelims and semis to advance to finals. In the beginning they competed against 72 teams, but when they made it to finals they competed against 21 teams, and came in 17th place in the nation in small game day!
Coach Dobs says “Our first-ever trip to Nationals was unforgettable! Finishing 17th in the nation out of 72 teams is a testament to our athletes’ incredible growth in just one year. I’m beyond proud and grateful for the amazing support from our administration, boosters, and community. This wouldn't have been possible without them!” She is beyond proud of the team, but what about the athletes. Senior Erin Browning says “It was our first time going to high school nationals, so even making it to finals is a big accomplishment. I am very proud of my team and the hard work to get 17th place in the nation!”
Throughout the season these girls along with their coaches have put in so much hard work and time and it paid off by making it past semis, and then coming in 17th place in the nation. We can only imagine what is coming next year!

Last Saturday, the cheer team competed at UCA for a bid to go to Disney in which they placed 4th with a score of 80.8.
Coach Dob says, “I’m so proud with how much effort this team has put into getting ready for our competition season. Their hard work and determination really paid off with fourth place at the UCA Bluegrass Regional’s, which means they're going to Disney! But we still have a lot more work to do before the National High School Cheerleading in February.”
Their Coaches are very proud of their players. The team will go to Disney in February to compete at UCA against tougher opponents!
