On March 23rd, Boyle County celebrated another signing, this time honoring Ashton Drakeford for his commitment and dedication on the football field. In his first year at Boyle, Drakeford made an immediate impact and proved himself to be an important part of the team throughout the season.
Even after dealing with an in-season injury, Drakeford continued to push forward and play a big role. His toughness and determination stood out, especially as he remained committed to helping his teammates and contributing whenever he could during the state championship run. He made several big tackles for loss and recorded key pass deflections for the team.
Drakeford said, “I loved the campus, and when I went, I knew it was the place for me. I’m so thankful for all of my family and teammates being here to support me, and go Sycamores!”
This signing is not just a big personal milestone for Drakeford, but also a reflection of the hard work he has put in and the challenges he has overcome. His first year at Boyle showed the kind of athlete and teammate he is — someone who continues to compete at a high level no matter what.
Boyle County is excited to see what the future holds for Drakeford as he takes the next step in his athletic career.

On Tuesday, March 17th, Boyle County celebrated another exciting milestone as senior athlete Bubby McPherson officially signed to continue his academic and athletic career at the University of Louisville. Surrounded by family, friends, teammates, and coaches, the moment was one to remember.
Bubby’s journey to this point has been driven not only by his talent but also by his motivation to follow in his father’s footsteps. Back in the fall, he shared his goal of attending Louisville, and now that dream has officially become a reality.
Bubby said, “It’s my dream to go! I grew up a Louisville fan watching Lamar Jackson, which really made this special. My dad played there, which has always been a big motivator for me. He didn’t get to finish, so hopefully I can.”
For Bubby, this is just the beginning. As he prepares to take the next step at Louisville, there’s no doubt he’ll carry the same determination and passion that helped him reach this moment. Boyle County looks forward to watching him represent the program at the collegiate level and continue making his community proud.

On Thursday, February 27, another exciting signing took place at Boyle County High School, this time for the cheer program. Surrounded by family, friends, teammates, and coaches, Cacee Karsner officially signed her letter of intent to continue her cheerleading career at the University of Cincinnati.
Cacee shared that several factors helped her make the decision to attend Cincinnati. “I really like the dorms, so that helped me make the decision,” she said with a smile. In addition to cheering in college, Cacee plans to pursue a career in the medical field, which is one of the reasons she is going to Cincinnati. “The health science buildings are phenomenal, which, because I’m going into the medical field, is certainly a large benefit. I’m also very thankful for my family and friends being here to support me.”
Cacee has been a member of the Boyle County cheer team for many years and has played a key role in the program. We also can’t wait to see what she does on the next level.

On Wednesday, February 23, Colt Kelly officially signed his letter of intent to attend the University of the Cumberlands, marking an exciting milestone in his athletic career. Surrounded by family, friends, teammates, and coaches, Kelly celebrated the opportunity to continue competing in the sport he loves at the collegiate level.
For Kelly, the moment was both rewarding and motivating as he prepares to take the next step in his journey. Kelly shared how much the support from those around him meant during the signing ceremony. “It’s exciting having everyone here to support me, it really gets me going,” Kelly said. “I love that I get to do what I love on the next level, and I’m happy to be a Patriot.”
As he heads to the University of the Cumberlands, Kelly looks forward to continuing to develop his skills while representing his new school. Colt Kelly may be representing a different school but he will lead the team with the same energy. With the next chapter ahead of him, Kelly is ready to compete at the collegiate level and make the most of his chance to play the sport he loves.

On Wednesday, February 25, Natalie Spencer officially signed her letter of intent to attend Centre College, marking a major milestone in her academic and athletic journey. Surrounded by family, friends, teammates, and coaches, the moment was a celebration of years of hard work and dedication. For Spencer, the opportunity to continue her education and athletic career close to home makes the achievement even more meaningful.
Spencer expressed deep gratitude for everyone who supported her along the way. “I am incredibly grateful,” she said. “I’m thankful for my family for always supporting me, and for my teammates who have become like family while helping me grow and get better every day. My coaches have pushed me to improve and believe in myself. I’m just so thankful for all of them.”
Signing with Centre College represents more than just continuing her sport at the collegiate level. It reflects Spencer’s commitment, perseverance, and passion both on and off the field. As she looks ahead to this exciting new chapter, she carries with her the encouragement of her community and the confidence that she is ready for the challenges and opportunities that await her.

On Wednesday, February 25, Clark Coyle officially signed to continue his academic and athletic career at Texas A&M University, marking a historic moment for Boyle County athletics. For the second time in program history, a Boyle County swimmer will compete at the Division I level, before him, Aaron Raitiere, who went to Cornell in 2000.
Coyle’s journey to this milestone was built on years of early mornings, intense training sessions, and an unwavering commitment to improvement. His signing represents more than just personal success; it reflects the growth of a program that continues to push its athletes to compete at the highest level.
“I went to a few other colleges, but when I visited Texas A&M, I fell in love with the campus,” Coyle said. “I want to thank everyone for pushing me and holding me accountable during practices.”
With the support of his coaches, teammates, and family, Coyle has transformed hard work into opportunity, and his achievement sets a new standard for future Boyle County athletes to strive toward.

On February 25, Beau Bostick officially signed with the swim team at Centre College. This was a huge moment for Beau, and you could tell how excited he was to finally make it official. What made it even more special was that he got to stay close to home while continuing both his academic and athletic careers.
When asked about his decision, Beau talked about how much his support system has meant to him throughout his journey. “It really helps that I get to stay at home. I’m thankful for my teammates pushing me in the pool every day and helping me get better. My coaches are always making me better. I couldn’t be more thankful for this community I have,” he said.
Congratulations to Beau on an incredible high school swimming career and this amazing accomplishment. We’re all proud of him and can’t wait to see everything he achieves at Centre College!

On Friday, February 20th, Miley Finley officially signed to continue her academic and athletic career at Asbury University. The signing ceremony was filled with family, friends, teammates, and coaches who have supported her throughout her journey at Boyle County High School. Over the years, Finley has been known not only for her talent on the softball field but also for her leadership, determination, and the positive example she sets for younger athletes in the program.
Head softball coach, Coach Deem, commented on Finley’s success at BCHS. “Watching her grow up to the young lady today has been a joy to me, she’s taught me a lot about me and my coaching and how to do things a little bit differently. You have excelled expectations and you should be nothing more than proud of what you’ve done here”.
Finley also had some great things to say about what everybody has done for her in her time at BCHS. “I really couldn’t find the words to describe this day, but I just want to say thank you all for being here in this moment. To my family and friends, thank you for giving up so much so I could chase this, thank you all for making me laugh and making my heart a little less heavy, you carried me through the days I was exhausted and frustrated or ready to quit…. This next part is exciting but it’s also hard because it means closing the chapter that meant everything to me, thank you all for being a part of it”.
Finley’s impact on the program goes far beyond statistics, as she has consistently shown resilience, work ethic, and a passion for the game that inspired her teammates every day. Her commitment marks the start of an exciting new chapter, and she leaves behind a strong legacy at BCHS. We all are very proud of Miley and hope that she has a successful future at Asbury University.

Charli Grubbs made a major step forward in her life as she officially signed with Maryville College to continue her volleyball career. A standout player at Boyle County, Charli has built a strong reputation for her athleticism and skill, and the Scots are excited to have her join their program.
Known for her height, strength, and overall athletic ability, Charli fits well with Maryville’s style of play. She described the signing as a huge accomplishment and said she really likes the campus and the people there. She also mentioned how nice the environment feels, especially during the fall and winter seasons.
“I’m very excited and grateful to sign,” Charli said. “This is a really big accomplishment in my life.” She also shared how much it meant to have her family and friends there to support her as she begins this new chapter.
Charli plays outside hitter, where she contributes as an attacker while also helping with blocking and passing. Her hard work and dedication have paid off, and this moment shows how far she has come.
As she moves on to the next level, Charli’s story is a reminder to keep working hard and never give up on your goals.

On February 18th, three Boyle County High School athletes signed to continue their athletic careers in college, and one of them was Maggie Burke. Maggie officially signed to play soccer at Centre College. “Today is another day for us as our soccer program and our soccer family take another step forward,” Coach Deem said during the signing.
Maggie leaves behind an incredible legacy. She ranks in the top five all-time in goals scored in program history with 92 goals. Over the past four years, she has helped lead the team to two state championships, multiple all-state appearances, 46 assists, and four region titles. More than just her stats, Maggie has played a huge role in helping grow the program and set a high standard for the future.
“To see you blossom into the young woman you are today—academically, responsibly, and as a leader—has been exceptional,” Coach Deem added. Coach Bryan also shared how proud he is of Maggie, not just for her accomplishments on the field, but for the teammate and leader she has become.
After signing, Maggie reflected on the people who helped her get to this point. “First of all, I want to thank God for giving me the ability to play soccer. I want to thank my teammates because without them, I wouldn’t be where I am. They’ve helped me through every battle, whether it was a good day or a bad day. The same goes for my family and, of course, my coaches for helping me every step of the way,” she said.
Congratulations to Maggie on an amazing high school career. We can’t wait to see all she accomplishes at Centre College and wish her the best for the rest of her senior year!

On Wednesday, February 18th, Ashlyn Young signed with Georgetown College for volleyball, marking a major accomplishment in her athletic career and a proud moment for Boyle County High School. Young has been a standout multi-sport athlete, known for her competitiveness, leadership, and dedication in everything she does.
Young’s head coach commented on her success at BCHS. “I knew this day would come, I just didn’t know which sport it would be in… her commitment, her drive, and the way she competes is like no other… she really shows what it means to be a multi-sport athlete”. Georgetown’s head coach also had some good words to say about Ashlyn’s future in college. “It’s exciting to see so many people support Ashlyn… there’s going to be a lot of ups and downs as you go through your college career, but it’s an amazing experience, so I’m excited to have her in our locker room”.
Young had some words of thanks to say as well. “I just want to thank everyone for coming, I thank my family, friends, and teammates for getting me to this place. I’m so sad that I have to leave you guys but thank you for all these years here at Boyle”.

On Monday, February 15th, Ashton Feck signed with Kentucky Christian University for fishing, marking a major achievement in his high school career and a proud moment for the Boyle County fishing program. Feck has been a key member of the team for several years, consistently demonstrating dedication, leadership, and a strong passion for the sport both on and off the water.
Feck’s coach commented on his success with the Boyle fishing program. “The program has been very lucky to have Ashton and his family for the last several years… There is not a doubt in our mind that he will succeed at the next level”. His coach also noted that Ashton’s work ethic and commitment have helped set the standard for younger anglers in the program.
The KCU coach also commented on Ashton’s future as a college fisher. “We’re thrilled to have Ashton here at KCU”. When asked about what he is most excited about fishing at KCU he responded with this, “Im looking forward to fishing on different lakes all around the country, getting to explore new techniques and everything else.” With this opportunity, Ashton looks to continue growing his skills, competing at a higher level, and representing both Boyle County and KCU as he begins the next chapter of his fishing career.

On Wednesday, Senior Ellery Taylor officially signed with Centre College to continue with her career of playing soccer at the next level. From starting from playing basketball to becoming an elite scorer on the soccer field, Ellery has shown resilience and exceptional determination throughout her years of playing soccer for Boyle County.
Coach Deem, our girls' soccer coach at Boyle County, says, “We as a family at Boyle County are proud to say you are one of ours.” The Taylor family is excited for her to play soccer at the collegiate level.
Coach Deem also announced that Ellery was named the 2025 Ms. Kentucky Soccer. This award, chosen by the Kentucky Girls High School Soccer Coaches Association, honors the top senior player in the state based on their performance throughout the season. Ellery finished her high school soccer career recording 84 goals with 40 assists
Lastly, Ellery shared his thoughts on taking it to the next level for soccer, “I'm very excited to join the Centre College soccer team. I really love my teammates who are going to be there, and the atmosphere there is incredible."
We are all so excited to watch Ellery continue her soccer career with Center College and cant wait to see what she accomplishes!

On Wednesday, Senior Track and Field Runner Max Kilby signed to Lindsey Wilson, along with his friend Colin Lay. From running on the track to being a left back defender in soccer, Kilby has shown persistence and determination throughout his high school sports career.
Boyle County Head Track coach Kelly Sawtelle says, “Max was a freshman when I started coaching, so I've got to watch him grow into the runner he is today, and he is a very dynamic athlete.”
With his accomplishments at Boyle County High School, it is clear to see how ready and dedicated he is to continue running at a collegiate level. Lindsey Wilson assistant coach Alexia DeHaven says, “I noticed Max right off the bat, and how much potential he has. Max and Colin will definitely contribute to our goal of making it to nationals.”
A quote from Kilby is, “I want to thank my family, my peers, and everyone around me for pushing me to be the best version of myself, and giving me the opportunity to run at Lindey Wilson.”

Last Wednesday, Colin Lay Signed to Lindsey Wilson College to pursue his passion for track.
Head Coach Kelly Sawtelle says, “Colin is one of the most nonchalant people that I have ever met in my life. Just such a calm casual demeanor. He never gets nervous before races, if he does he doesn’t show it. He will pretty much do anything we throw at him at practice, he’s just my go to yes man. He has been a joy to coach and he leads by example. He’s a quiet leader but definitely a leader nonetheless on this team. He has really come a long way and is truly the example of hard work paying off.”
Colin started as a distance runner, he started with the mile and the 800. Then moved to the 11 5 100, 53 4 400, 22 8 200, and he’ll be running on the 4 by 1 team during regionals, which are ranked 1st in the state.
Colin Lay says, “Thank you to my coaches and my team who have supported me, I’m really excited for the future.” We can’t wait to see how far Colin takes his career!

On Thursday, Senior Kendra Christopher signed to Centre College to continue her love of playing volleyball. Throughout highschool she was a multi-sport athlete, playing volleyball, running track, and playing basketball. While also keeping up with academics and school work.
At her signing, Athletic Director at Boyle County Travis Leffew said, “We are all excited that she decided to continue to play, but even more excited that she decided to stay close to home.”
Kendra, surrounded by all of her friends and family, happily signed to Centre. Her accomplishments at Boyle County will always be remembered, but we are thrilled to see what she can do at a collegiate level. A quote from her Head Coach at Boyle County, Eric Kenoyer is, “I've had the opportunity to coach her since sixth grade…the great thing about Kendra is all of the extra work she puts in, that most people don't see. Centre is gaining a great volleyball player, but an even better person.”
When asked what led her to make this decision, Kendra said, “I had a period where I didn't think I was going to continue playing, I thought my last game would just be my last game. But I got a text from my coach about it, and I realized how much I missed it.”
We are proud of what she has accomplished so far, and excited to see what she can do at Centre College!

Last Friday, Lineman Paul McClure signed with Centre College to pursue his passion for Football.
Head Coach at Boyle County Justin Haddix says, “We are very thankful that Paul is able to go to Centre. We are thankful that we were able to have him on the team, he is a really competitive person, looks up front, and that is something that really sets him apart from the rest. He has a really bright future ahead of him and we are all really proud.”
Paul has been a State Football Champion and a State Wrestling Champion for Boyle in the past, he is full of potential and can take that anywhere. Paul McClure says, “First of all I just really want to thank my family for supporting me, I wanna thank everyone for coming. It means a lot to me, I really appreciate my teammates from both football and wrestling, you guys mean the world to me. This is just a community like none other.”
We are all eager to see how far Paul will go in his career for Football!

Last Wednesday, Senior Grant Didomenico signed to work with Stuart Powell in Danville. This concludes the second signing of Boyle County students who are continuing their career with Stuart Powell.
Didomenico had a big crowd of supporters, with coaches and friends, to the General Manager at Stuart Powell, he has an amazing support system surrounding him!
David Christopher, Boyle County High School Principal, says, “It's a big day, and it's something that I think grows and develops us in Boyle County Schools.”
To watch Grant begin his career is a very exciting day! Didomenico says, “I am very thankful for everyone around me, my family, and Stuart Powell for giving me the opportunity to start my career with them.”

On Monday, Senior Alan Wireman signed to Kentucky Christian University to continue with his career of playing soccer. From running on the track, to being a striker on the field, Alan has shown resilience and exceptional determination throughout his years of playing soccer for Boyle County.
Travis Leffew, our Athletic Director at Boyle County says, “We are proud that he is carrying on his journey at KCU and taking it to the next level.” Alan’s friends and family are thrilled that he chose an excellent college, and one that is closer to home.
Alan’s head coach at KCU Jermey Miller, says how he is beyond excited for Alan to play, as he has watched him complete many accomplishments while playing for Boyle County. He says, “Im looking forward to watching Alan grow, and building a closer relationship while he is with us.”
Lastly, Alan says, “I'm very blessed with this opportunity, a huge thank you to my friends, teammates, and my family, who I couldn't have done it without.” We are very proud of Alan for his desire to continue on with soccer, and excited to watch him throughout his career at Kentucky Christian University!

On Monday, Jackson Burger Signed with Georgetown College to pursue his passion for wrestling. A quote from Head Coach Lucas is, ”I just wanna say we’re all so proud of you, you don’t understand how big of a moment this is for your school, for your team, for all the little guys watching you. Coach James got a heck of a wrestler and a heck of a young man. I think he’s gonna surprise himself as well as some other people who are doubters, but we’re gonna have nothing but faith for you.”
Jackson will be joining a new program with Georgetown, and he’ll be some of the first players on the team.
A quote from Jackson himself from the day he signed is, “I wanna thank everyone for coming. I want to thank my teammates and my family for being a part of the journey, it's been a long ride. I've been wrestling for 7 years at the highschool level but it’s finally over and I’m getting to wrestle at the next level. Always been a part of the plan.” We are all so excited to see Jackson go farther in his career as a wrestler and wish him the best of luck.

On March 27th, Katherine LeMonds signed with Lindsey Wilson College to continue playing softball. Head Coach Bryan Deem shares this about Katherine’s signing, “Thirty years ago your dad was a pitcher at Boyle and I was a baseball coach at Garrard County. Then I came here the next year and that was when I came to meet your mom in softball. To see all this come full circle, it’s special to see the journey that you’ve had. It’s special to us as a softball program to see you continuing a very rich tradition here with kids going to the next level of playing. You're definitely deserving because the commitment you have, not only to your academics and your athletics, but to your faith is unparalleled to most of the student athletes that I've had.”
We have another quote from Kathrine LeMonds herself, that was from the day she signed. “Thank you all for being here, you all are the reason I'm here and God is the reason. All of you have done nothing but support me and it is all I could ask. Thank you to my parents, my mom has always supported me through the ups and downs, and my dad is the first one to catch me and the first one to cheer me on. My sisters are always my baby cheerleaders and I know we

Last Friday, Lyndon Smith signed to the University of Pikeville. Throughout his years of playing football in middle school and high school, he says his favorite memory was creating a bond and a family with his team.
Smith has given an immense amount of dedication to Boyle County football, and we are excited to see his accomplishments as he continues. Athletic director, Travis Leffew, says, “We are extremely proud to see our students advance to the next level in sports, something they’ve been working toward since they were kids.”
When asked what strang his emotional pull to commit to University of Pikeville, Smith said, “I was given my first offer from Pikeville, they had interest in me and it gave me a sense of home.” We are eager to watch him continue his career at a higher level!

This week, Issac Doneghy signed to Union College for football. Issac has been playing football throughout his highschool years. From early workouts in the morning before school, to practice during season, Issac has put in the work to get to where he is today.
Issac’s stats this year have been outstanding, such as running with a 5.5, all purpose yards with a 4.5, and lastly in total yards with a 4.5.
We are very proud of his accomplishments, and excited to continue to watch him throughout his career!

On March 6th, Emery Herron established her commitment to continue her career to play golf in college, while signing to Transylvania University.
Throughout Emery’s high school career she has shown resilience and ability to bounce back. Emerys very first coach, John Cequera says, “Emery came out from day one, wanting to compete with everyone. She's always had the best work ethic, I am and will always be proud!”
Emery’s friends and family are beyond grateful she chose to commit to a wonderful college close to home, with them being able to still watch her throughout her journey.
During the signing Emery shared a few words about her experience golfing with Boyle County, “I'm very thankful for the golf community around Boyle County, they are always so sweet and loving.” We are so excited to watch Emery continue to golf at Transylvania University!

On Friday, February 14th, Senior Austin Bodner signed with Thomas More University to play football. When asked why he chose Thomas More over other schools, he replied “Thomas More gave me my first offer. Because they trusted in me and truly believed in me, and had faith in me, that got my interest.”

Last Wednesday, Montavin Quisenberry and Brock Driver had their signings.
Quisenberry made his commitment to the University Of Kentucky at Melton's Deli, and this is what he said about it, “I’m really excited to go to the University Of Kentucky, but going into the SEC I need to put in some more work.”
Also, Brock Driver signed to EKU at Boyle County High School. Brock shares “I’m very excited and I can’t wait to get to the next level of football. I will start lifting more to help prepare myself for a higher level of football”.

On Tuesday November 19th, Shelbi Webb signed to the University Of The Cumberlands Bowling team. When asked what it was like being a vital role on Boyle County’s Bowling team, Shelbi responded with “It has really helped me grow as a person and being an example to the younger people, they mean so much to me.” Shelbi is beyond excited for the season ahead for her and the team.

On Wednesday, November 7th, Kate Hoffman signed with Centre College to swim! When asked about her emotions about leaving Boyle County High School but not going too far away, she responded, "It is a little disappointing but also exciting to get to stay with people I know and care about me.” Coach Jeremy, Kate's high school coach, also shared, "Kate has been a part of the swim team for 6 years and in those years has seen 3 girls regional titles and 4 overall region titles.” Kate will be swimming on the Centre’s women's swim team! The next signing is to be determined.
