The Rebels entered their final region game of the regular season with an 11-9 record and had already clinched the No. 2 seed in the district tournament, earning a first-round bye. Even though their tournament spot was secured, they were still looking to finish the regular season strong.
Coming off a tough loss to DCA, the Rebels had three games left and were focused on making final adjustments before postseason play. However, they faced a strong Somerset team that came into the game on a hot streak, with recent wins over DCA, Pulaski, and Southwestern.
By halftime, the Briar Jumpers led 36-22. Somerset continued their strong performance in the second half, shooting 56 percent from the field. At the end of the third quarter, they were up 64-46 and maintained that lead through the final buzzer to win 64-46.
Junior Wheeler led the Rebels with 19 points on the night, while the team finished with 46 total points. Despite the loss, the Rebels will look to regroup and prepare for the district tournament as they shift their focus to postseason play.

On Tuesday February 10th, both the boys and girls basketball teams played in their last district game of the season. The girls were looking to end district play undefeated, and the boys were looking to shock the district.
The Lady Rebels started on fire in the first quarter, with multiple threes giving them a 19-10 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Rebels press gave DCA a hard time getting the ball over halfcourt. The press also created a lot of turnovers.
The Rebels continued to show great effort and held DCA to only 10 points per quarter in the first half, having a lead of 32-20. The Rebels made some great adjustments in halftime as they scored 40 points in the second half and only allowed 23 points in the 2nd half
The Rebels ended the district season undefeated and Coach Britt was really happy with the girls during the district season, saying, “We played much better in the second half we also played with detail.” he also said “we want to do something the school hasn't done in a while, and that is win a district championship since 2007 its been since 1997 since we won the region tournament”
The Rebels improve their regular season record to 20-3 and will play Pineville on Thursday, Feb 12
The boys team is sitting in 2nd place in the district and has a chance to clinch the bye today in the district tournament
The boys started this game off very well, up 9-5 in the first quarter nocking down some big threes. The game became very competitive in the 2nd quarter, with the Rebels leading at the half, 21-20. DCA started to get a good lead up 28-34, at the end of the 3rd quarter. The rebels, down 12 points with 2:30 left, were looking to come back. The rebels are no strangers to comebacks, coming back down 14 with a couple of minutes to go against Danville and winning that game. The rebels cut it down to 5 with 2:00 minutes left, on a big three from junior Webb, and with 15 seconds left, Junior Weehler hits a big floater to tie the game. That wouldn't last for long as DCA would hit a buzzer beater 3 to win the ball game 48-45. Coach Todd was asked after the ball game what are you going to twll your team in the locker room? “The road doesn't get easier. We've got a tough schedule the rest of the season.” The Rebels fall to 11-9 on the season and end district play 4-4 and will get the bye in the district tournament.

On Saturday, the 7th, the boys and girls basketball teams traveled to Lincoln County in a girls-boys doubleheader. Both Boyle's girls and boys teams beat the Lincoln County teams during the first meeting. Lincoln teams are out for blood to get the win this time.
The Rebels came out hot to start and led by a big margin going into the first quarter. Lincoln was trying to find their way back in, but just couldn't find the chance to get back in. Boyle was led in scoring by Sophomore Addison Yates with 21 points, and behind her was Freshman Kynslee Leffew with 18 points. The Lady Rebels got a big win, 56-28.
Now the Boys game was a lot tighter ballgame, with both teams trading buckets back and forth. The Rebels lead going into most of the thirds and going into the fourth quarter. Lincoln guards got going down at the end, hitting big-time threes to force the game to go into overtime.
The first overtime was the same as the game back and forth; no one was able to catch a lead, which led to another OT. Sawyer Pittman decided that he had enough and hit a game-winner to end it and to have 24 points. Rebels go 2-0 against Lincoln for the season.

All eyes were on this doubleheader on Tuesday against Danville as the girls' team looked to stay undefeated in district play, and the boys looked to get revenge.
In the girls' game, they had one of their key players, Senior Britt, returning from injury. The game started with the Lady Rebels going on a 17-6 run in the first quarter, and then went on to score 10 points in the 2nd quarter, with the score being 27-16.
This was the girls' first game back since Jan. 22 due to the bad winter weather. Coach Britt said at the halftime break, “We were really inconsistent on the offensive side. There were times when we left off 2 weeks ago, and there were other times where the ball seemed to get stuck in our hands.”
The rebels took the halftime adjustments and started lighting it up from the field, with the final score being 66-34. Some stat leaders from the game are sophomore Yates, scoring 22 points, and senior Taylor, scoring 20 points. The team also recorded 24 rebounds, improving their district record to 5-0.
The boys' game was an all-time classic with Danville starting hot, going on a 16-3 run in the first quarter, but the score was 4 points to end the quarter, with Junior Pendygraft getting his first basket as a rebel. In the 2nd quarter, the Rebels got it closer with the score being 23-33 at halftime. Coach Todd says, “We have to make some adjustments to our defense.“
The Rebels went down by 14 in the 2nd half, but the Rebels rallied to come back and send it to overtime! The score at the end of regulation was 62-62. The Junior Driver ended the regulation with 27 points!
The rebels were looking to finish this game strong in OT and most certainly did, beating the Admirals 75-65 and having some incredible stats from the game. Driver finished with a double-double with 27 points and 18 rebounds, and Juniors Webb and Wheeler, and sophomore Pittman recorded over double-digit points.

The stage was set for a major district showdown last Friday night as both the Lady Rebels took the floor in an important 45th District matchup. With postseason play right around the corner, every possession mattered, and the atmosphere reflected it. The Lady Rebels tipped things off and wasted no time making a statement. From the opening whistle, they applied relentless defensive pressure and pushed the tempo offensively, jumping out to a commanding 12–0 run.
Their intensity on both ends of the floor immediately set the tone. Crisp ball movement led to open shots, and strong rebounding limited Garrard to very few second-chance opportunities early on. Garrard eventually settled in and began to chip away at the deficit midway through the first half, knocking down a few key shots to slow the momentum. However, every time Garrard threatened to make it a game, the Lady Rebels responded. Whether it was a big three-pointer, a fast-break layup, or a key defensive stop, Boyle maintained control throughout the night. This has been the pattern all season for the Lady Rebels: when they win, they win convincingly.
Friday was no different. Their balanced scoring attack, disciplined defense, and unselfish play led to a dominant 60–29 victory. Addison Yates led the charge with 20 points, shooting an efficient 4-of-9 from beyond the arc and a perfect 4-of-4 from the free-throw line. Her confidence and leadership were evident throughout the game. Afterward, she said, “We are really rolling right now and peaking at the right time.” With the postseason approaching, the Lady Rebels appear to be gaining momentum at exactly the right moment.
The boys' game followed in what many anticipated to be one of the most competitive matchups of the district schedule. With tournament seeding on the line, both teams came out energized and ready for a battle. The first half featured back-and-forth action, with each team trading baskets and defensive stops. Boyle found success attacking the paint early and controlling the boards, allowing them to build a narrow lead.
By halftime, the Rebels held a 33–28 advantage, but Garrard closed the gap late in the second quarter with a scoring run that kept the game within reach. In the second half, the intensity only increased. Every possession felt crucial as both teams tightened up defensively. Seneca Driver delivered a strong performance, finishing with 11 points and 13 rebounds to record a double-double. His presence in the paint provided a steady force for the Rebels on both ends of the floor.
Despite their effort, the Rebels struggled to convert key opportunities down the stretch. Garrard capitalized on late possessions and hit timely shots to take control in the final minutes. Boyle battled until the final buzzer, but ultimately fell short in a hard-fought 61–57 loss. Though the outcome wasn’t what the Rebels hoped for, the competitive performance showed their resilience and determination heading into the postseason. Both teams will have a quick turnaround as they travel to Lincoln County tomorrow for another important district doubleheader, looking to build momentum as tournament play approaches.

The boys were looking for a big win after coming off a close loss to DCA a few days before. In the first quarter, the Rebels came out really slow, trailing by 11 with 2 mins left in the first. But the Boys got going off of some Owen Wheeler buckets that were much needed.

Owen Wheeler said, “We need to get going because this was a game I didn't want to lose, so I had to go get some”. Going into halftime, the Rebels were down 8 and needed some energy to get back into the game.
The Rebels came out hot in the 3rd quarter, getting lots of buckets and some big stops on defense, which helped cut the lead. Harper Webb led the rebels with 12 points, and Seneca Driver with 11 points and a load of rebounds. With 20 seconds left, the game was tied and Senior Colt Gavin Murphy hit a game-winning three. The boys fought hard but came up just short.

With seconds left in the first quarter, Seneca Driver found Harper Webb at the top of the key for a momentum-changing three. The Rebels trailed 15–11 after one. Webb stayed hot in the second quarter, hitting two straight threes, but DCA went into halftime leading 31–23.
In the second half, junior Driver caught fire with some impressive dunks, but DCA held on to win 64–57. Driver finished with 25 points, while Webb added 13. Even though the Rebels came up short, they showed heart and proved they could compete with one of the best teams in the state.

Tuesday, January 13th, the Rebels traveled to Garrard County for a girls' and boys' doubleheader. The Lady Rebels, before this game, were 11-3 and were heading into their first district game of the year. Ellery Taylor led the team last night to the win with 20 points.
After talking with a freshman, Kynslee Leffew, she states that after last night's game. “I think what helped us a lot was how aggressive we were on defense and how we were working as a team and being positive, which has been one of our main goals.” Kynslee finished off the night with 8 points and 8 rebounds to help her team to a victory.
After the 48-40 win last night, our boys' basketball team is now 2-0 in district play. Junior Harper Webb said this about last night's game. “We battled through even though we were not hitting shots, but got a good win on the road.” Seneca Driver led the team in rebounds with 19, and Sawyer Pittman led the team in points with 14.

Coach Todd was looking to get off to a strong start in his first season, and Boyle County was ready to prove themselves with a season-opening win, even though the football team was still playing at the time. However, the Patriots came out firing. After multiple made threes and stifling defense, Lincoln County ended the third quarter up 41-27.
The lead stayed around 14 for most of the 4th quarter, but with four minutes left the momentum started to shift. All of a sudden, the Rebels were able to combine stops with points. With around one minute left, Boyle County had miraculously tied the game. However, Lincoln County bounced back and hit four straight free throws to win the game 50-46.

On Saturday, the boys basketball team went on the road to play Lincoln County. Boyle came in with the fire still kindled from the DCA loss, and ready to bounce back again.
Boyle started the first half firing from all cylinders taking a big lead. Boyle did a great job at silencing the crowd at Lincoln. Imposing their will early in the game down low and from the outside.
Harper Webb hit a barrage of threes shooting ⅘ from beyond the arc, with a big buzzer beater three to give the Rebels big momentum at the start. Boyle did a great job defensively forcing Lincoln to shoot contested threes.
Other notable players who made big plays were Seneca Driver getting a big block on Lincoln’s Cash Baird to put away the game for the Rebels. And another pull up jumper to give the Rebels back the lead late in the game.
Boyle County certainly bounced back after their demoralizing DCA loss, beating West Jessamine on Tuesday. Then beating Lincoln in a thriller on Saturday.

On Tuesday, the boys basketball team defeated West Jessamine in an intra-regional matchup. Coming into the game, the Rebels boasted a record of 7-5. While the Colts were 7-6.
This was another game where sophomore Seneca Driver would be tested by a lot of height. West Jessamine’s Luk Tut stands around 6 '10, and posed a challenge for Boyle County.
However, the Rebels came out playing very physical and limited Tut. Boyle County maintained a close lead the whole game, and going into the fourth quarter the game was still in reach for the Colts.
Seneca Driver ended up being too much to handle for West Jessamine, as Boyle County won 57-51.

Boyle County Rebels on a roll in district play, faced off against DCA at home. The Rebels jumped off to an exciting start going up 15-7 at the end of the 1st quarter. Then, DCA went into a full-court press and regained the lead.
After a 32-2 run made by DCA, Boyle and all of the fans were left speechless after such a well-executed full-court press, the Rebels totaled for 18 turnovers in the first half.
Boyle tried their best to calm DCA down in the second half but the twin towers of DCA, Geu Leek Ateny and Lual Ayiei, were in the Boyle passing lanes all night.
Boyle County did not have an answer for anything DCA threw at them. Many times it looked like Boyle was lost on defense, because of how much bigger DCA is. It was an off night for the Rebels but they look to bounce back with games against West Jessamine and Lincoln County.

Lyndon Smith scored a game-high 17 points, followed by Seneca Driver with 15.
The game was relatively close going into halftime, but early in the second half you could see that Boyle County was running away with it.
The Rebels carried that momentum all the way until the end and beat their rivals 64-39.

The Boyle boys basketball team kicked off their district play on January 14th, against Garrard County. The boys reigned victorious winning 55-46.
The Rebels were shooting themselves in the foot early in the first quarter missing out on a lot of opportunities to extend the lead. Garrard fought and kept it close. Nevertheless, Boyle’s strong presence in the passing lanes helped prevent any type of run that Garrard could go on.
Heading towards halftime, Boyle extended their lead up to 13 with a couple of big time takeaways to kill any momentum that Garrard showed. They headed toward the half with a 27-18 lead at the half.
The second half became much closer, Garrard cutting the lead down to 6. But with a strong defensive effort, Boyle closed out their first district game in a big win.
There were some players that stepped up for Boyle whenever the game looked dim. Those players are: Harper Webb with 13 pts, Braylon Gest with 15 pts, and Seneca Driver with 11 points 9 rebounds. This helped Boyle pull out a 9 point victory over Garrard!
