Title: Honoring our leaders of the court in their last game of the season.
The Rebels were looking to cap off a historic season as they faced Bethlehem, coming into the matchup with an impressive 22–3 record. It was clear they had high expectations, but the game didn’t start in their favor.
Bethlehem came out hot, going on a 14–4 run and taking a 16–6 lead at the end of the first quarter. During the timeout, the Rebels knew they had to settle down and make adjustments if they wanted to turn things around.
In the second quarter, they did exactly that. The Rebels went on a big run of their own and took a 25–22 lead, with senior Maggie Burke stepping up and making key plays. At halftime, Coach Britt said, “Bethlehem hit some big threes early, but we started to warm up in the second quarter.”
From there, the Rebels took control of the game and never looked back, winning 61–36. Three players scored in double digits: Freshman Leffew led with 18 points, Senior Burke added 16, and Senior Taylor finished with 12.
Senior managers Robert and Jaydon shared what the team means to them, saying, “It means everything to us,” when asked about being part of the program.
The Rebels will now face the winner of Danville and Garrard for a chance to compete in the district championship on February 14th at Danville.

The girls came out with great defense and high energy. Even though they had a couple of injuries during the game, it didn’t slow them down. They stepped up, filled in where needed, and showed a lot of flexibility as a team. After four solid quarters, the final score was 60-32.

On Tuesday February 10th, both the boys and girls basketball teams played in their last district game of the season. The girls were looking to end district play undefeated, and the boys were looking to shock the district.
The Lady Rebels started on fire in the first quarter, with multiple threes giving them a 19-10 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Rebels press gave DCA a hard time getting the ball over halfcourt. The press also created a lot of turnovers.
The Rebels continued to show great effort and held DCA to only 10 points per quarter in the first half, having a lead of 32-20. The Rebels made some great adjustments in halftime as they scored 40 points in the second half and only allowed 23 points in the 2nd half
The Rebels ended the district season undefeated and Coach Britt was really happy with the girls during the district season, saying, “We played much better in the second half we also played with detail.” he also said “we want to do something the school hasn't done in a while, and that is win a district championship since 2007 its been since 1997 since we won the region tournament”
The Rebels improve their regular season record to 20-3 and will play Pineville on Thursday, Feb 12
The boys team is sitting in 2nd place in the district and has a chance to clinch the bye today in the district tournament
The boys started this game off very well, up 9-5 in the first quarter nocking down some big threes. The game became very competitive in the 2nd quarter, with the Rebels leading at the half, 21-20. DCA started to get a good lead up 28-34, at the end of the 3rd quarter. The rebels, down 12 points with 2:30 left, were looking to come back. The rebels are no strangers to comebacks, coming back down 14 with a couple of minutes to go against Danville and winning that game. The rebels cut it down to 5 with 2:00 minutes left, on a big three from junior Webb, and with 15 seconds left, Junior Weehler hits a big floater to tie the game. That wouldn't last for long as DCA would hit a buzzer beater 3 to win the ball game 48-45. Coach Todd was asked after the ball game what are you going to twll your team in the locker room? “The road doesn't get easier. We've got a tough schedule the rest of the season.” The Rebels fall to 11-9 on the season and end district play 4-4 and will get the bye in the district tournament.

Title: 2-0 against Lincoln
On Saturday, the 7th, the boys and girls basketball teams traveled to Lincoln County in a girls-boys doubleheader. Both Boyle's girls and boys teams beat the Lincoln County teams during the first meeting. Lincoln teams are out for blood to get the win this time.
The Rebels came out hot to start and led by a big margin going into the first quarter. Lincoln was trying to find their way back in, but just couldn't find the chance to get back in. Boyle was led in scoring by Sophomore Addison Yates with 21 points, and behind her was Freshman Kynslee Leffew with 18 points. The Lady Rebels got a big win, 56-28.
Now the Boys game was a lot tighter ballgame, with both teams trading buckets back and forth. The Rebels lead going into most of the thirds and going into the fourth quarter. Lincoln guards got going down at the end, hitting big-time threes to force the game to go into overtime.
The first overtime was the same as the game back and forth; no one was able to catch a lead, which led to another OT. Sawyer Pittman decided that he had enough and hit a game-winner to end it and to have 24 points. Rebels go 2-0 against Lincoln for the season.

Title: one town, one rivalry like no other
All eyes were on this doubleheader on Tuesday against Danville as the girls' team looked to stay undefeated in district play, and the boys looked to get revenge.
In the girls' game, they had one of their key players, Senior Britt, returning from injury. The game started with the Lady Rebels going on a 17-6 run in the first quarter, and then went on to score 10 points in the 2nd quarter, with the score being 27-16.
This was the girls' first game back since Jan. 22 due to the bad winter weather. Coach Britt said at the halftime break, “We were really inconsistent on the offensive side. There were times when we left off 2 weeks ago, and there were other times where the ball seemed to get stuck in our hands.”
The rebels took the halftime adjustments and started lighting it up from the field, with the final score being 66-34. Some stat leaders from the game are sophomore Yates, scoring 22 points, and senior Taylor, scoring 20 points. The team also recorded 24 rebounds, improving their district record to 5-0.
The boys' game was an all-time classic with Danville starting hot, going on a 16-3 run in the first quarter, but the score was 4 points to end the quarter, with Junior Pendygraft getting his first basket as a rebel. In the 2nd quarter, the Rebels got it closer with the score being 23-33 at halftime. Coach Todd says, “We have to make some adjustments to our defense.“
The Rebels went down by 14 in the 2nd half, but the Rebels rallied to come back and send it to overtime! The score at the end of regulation was 62-62. The Junior Driver ended the regulation with 27 points!
The rebels were looking to finish this game strong in OT and most certainly did, beating the Admirals 75-65 and having some incredible stats from the game. Driver finished with a double-double with 27 points and 18 rebounds, and Juniors Webb and Wheeler, and sophomore Pittman recorded over double-digit points.
The next double header is Friday the 6th against Garrard County.

The stage was set for a major district showdown last Friday night as both the Lady Rebels took the floor in an important 45th District matchup. With postseason play right around the corner, every possession mattered, and the atmosphere reflected it. The Lady Rebels tipped things off and wasted no time making a statement. From the opening whistle, they applied relentless defensive pressure and pushed the tempo offensively, jumping out to a commanding 12–0 run.
Their intensity on both ends of the floor immediately set the tone. Crisp ball movement led to open shots, and strong rebounding limited Garrard to very few second-chance opportunities early on. Garrard eventually settled in and began to chip away at the deficit midway through the first half, knocking down a few key shots to slow the momentum. However, every time Garrard threatened to make it a game, the Lady Rebels responded. Whether it was a big three-pointer, a fast-break layup, or a key defensive stop, Boyle maintained control throughout the night. This has been the pattern all season for the Lady Rebels: when they win, they win convincingly.
Friday was no different. Their balanced scoring attack, disciplined defense, and unselfish play led to a dominant 60–29 victory. Addison Yates led the charge with 20 points, shooting an efficient 4-of-9 from beyond the arc and a perfect 4-of-4 from the free-throw line. Her confidence and leadership were evident throughout the game. Afterward, she said, “We are really rolling right now and peaking at the right time.” With the postseason approaching, the Lady Rebels appear to be gaining momentum at exactly the right moment.
The boys' game followed in what many anticipated to be one of the most competitive matchups of the district schedule. With tournament seeding on the line, both teams came out energized and ready for a battle. The first half featured back-and-forth action, with each team trading baskets and defensive stops. Boyle found success attacking the paint early and controlling the boards, allowing them to build a narrow lead.
By halftime, the Rebels held a 33–28 advantage, but Garrard closed the gap late in the second quarter with a scoring run that kept the game within reach. In the second half, the intensity only increased. Every possession felt crucial as both teams tightened up defensively. Seneca Driver delivered a strong performance, finishing with 11 points and 13 rebounds to record a double-double. His presence in the paint provided a steady force for the Rebels on both ends of the floor.
Despite their effort, the Rebels struggled to convert key opportunities down the stretch. Garrard capitalized on late possessions and hit timely shots to take control in the final minutes. Boyle battled until the final buzzer, but ultimately fell short in a hard-fought 61–57 loss. Though the outcome wasn’t what the Rebels hoped for, the competitive performance showed their resilience and determination heading into the postseason. Both teams will have a quick turnaround as they travel to Lincoln County tomorrow for another important district doubleheader, looking to build momentum as tournament play approaches.

On Monday, January 22, the Lady Rebels took on the Lady Patriots at home in an exciting matchup. From the very beginning, the game was close and competitive, with both teams playing hard on offense and defense. All four quarters stayed tight, and neither team was able to pull too far ahead for most of the game. The crowd stayed loud and involved as the score went back and forth throughout the night.
In the fourth quarter, the Lady Rebels began to gain momentum and slowly pull away from the Lady Patriots. Their teamwork and effort helped them take control late in the game. Sophomore Addison Yates shared her thoughts, saying, “As a team, we just kind of got away from our good defensive habits and it set us back a little bit. However, staying disciplined to our team’s concept and being put in those tight scenarios, we stayed the course and pulled out the win.” Her comments show how important staying focused was for the team.
Overall, the Lady Rebels showed determination and resilience, especially when the pressure was high. The team’s ability to adjust and finish strong played a big role in the win. The Lady Rebels will look to keep this momentum going as they face the Danville Admirals on Tuesday, February 2nd at Rebel Arena.

Tuesday, January 13th, the Rebels traveled to Garrard County for a girls' and boys' doubleheader. The Lady Rebels, before this game, were 11-3 and were heading into their first district game of the year. Ellery Taylor led the team last night to the win with 20 points.

After the 48-40 win last night, our boys' basketball team is now 2-0 in district play. Junior Harper Webb said this about last night's game. “We battled through even though we were not hitting shots, but got a good win on the road.” Seneca Driver led the team in rebounds with 19, and Sawyer Pittman led the team in points with 14.

The first quarter was rough with the score ending 8-13, with Rockastle in the lead. The girls fought back and ended the half with a score of 22-21, with Boyle on point ahead. The Rebels went on a small run during the second quarter but with DCA’s shooting efficiency, the Warriors still held a 19 point lead at the half, 34-15.

Freshman starter, Caroline LeMonds, says, “I was the one who had to guard Grace for a good portion of the game and it was definitely challenging with her height. I think that overall, we didn’t play our best but it was a life lesson that we need to move past it and keep working.”

Last night, on December 9th, the girls basketball team faced off against the Western Hills Wolverines at 7:30pm. The girls were playing on their home court and were looking for a win to make their record 2-2. They were coming off of a tough loss on the road against Wayne County and were looking for a redemption.
In the first quarter, both teams started off quick. Although Boyle was put in the bonus in the first quarter, Western Hills held the lead the majority of the time. However, the Rebels did not let this stop them. At the end of the first, the score was 12-9, with the Wolverines leading.
In the second quarter, the team worked back to gain the lead. At the half, Boyle leads 29-28. The Wolverines started the second half with a layup to show that they weren’t going down without a fight. Addison Yates came out on fire though with 2 three’s and a layup within the first 5 minutes of the third. At the end of the third quarter, Western Hills leads 45-39.
The fourth quarter had the gym roaring. Lots of back and forth possessions and tight calls from the referees had everyone on their feet. To spice things up, 8th grade starter, Kynslee Leffew, drained two threes in a row to make the score 49-45, Western Hills still leading. Shortly after, Ashlen Young makes another three and Addison Yates makes two free throws, making the game 51-50, Western Hills in the lead. After a Wolverine timeout, Ashlen Young makes another three to tie the game 56-56 with 1 minute left in the game. Addison Yates gets a foul call and makes her shot making the score 59-56. The Rebels hold the lead until the very end where they win 65-60!
Junior Ellery Taylor says, “I think the game went pretty good. We came out with energy and communication which we have been working on improving. As a team at half time, we were up and our energy dropped causing them to take the lead in the third. But in the fourth, we picked it up and came out with a win! From this game, we can take away that energy and communication can win big games for us.”

Last night, on December 5th, the girls basketball team faced off against a 12th region powerhouse, the Pulaski County Maroons. Two days later, they aimed to keep their momentum.
After the first quarter, the Maroons established a strong lead, leading 28-11. The Rebels started off slow, not really pushing back when Pulaski scored. At the half, the Maroons lead 45-21.
After the halftime talk in the locker room, the Rebels had something to prove. Unfortunately, they could not battle back enough to take over the lead. At the end of the third, Pulaski held a lead of 30, 61-31.
A spark lit in the 4th quarter inside the Lady Rebels and they went on a run. They cut the lead down to a 21 point lead. The final score was 68-47, Pulaski winning.
Freshman starter, Caroline LeMonds says, “Going into the game, I think we were a little intimidated because Pulaski is known to be a top team in the region. This caused us to rush on offense and not focus on getting great shots. Overall, I don’t think we played to our full potential but I am excited to see what all we can do once we reach it.”
The Rebels play again tomorrow at Wayne County at 2:30PM. Good luck, Rebels!
