Last Wednesday through Friday, Boyle County FCCLA headed to Louisville to compete in the State Competition. Tuesday, the team headed down and got settled in, watched movies and had fun.
Wednesday started the competition, which was mainly STAR event day. With card making for charity, through state officer interviews and stage presentations, everyone competed well. The night ended with a region meeting, the region 15 meeting had a mini knowledge bowl, which the Boyle County Chapter won!
Thursday, FCCLA watched future FCS teachers devote themselves to being a FCS teacher, having that experience definitely prepares them for the many chapters to come in their lives with FCCLA. Next was the business session, where they had their Membership Award Winners recognized, Scholarship Donation recognition, Power of One recognition, Honor Roll recognition, and Say Yes Signees recognition. This was followed by our current seniors having a graduation where they had sessions with alumni and associates, along with giveaways, prizes, and games!
Friday was the closing session, where they had a STAR event recognition. Placing second in Chapter Review Display, level two, were Kenli Scrogham and Emma Kondik. A quote from Sophomore Kenli Scrogham is, “I am very proud of all of the participants this past week, everyone has put in a tremendous amount of work. And I'm extremely excited to see how we can perform at Nationals.” FCCLA will be headed to Nationals in July!
