On August 17th, Tate Kirkpatrick represented Boyle County High School at the Bluegrass Regional Welding Contest, held at Mercer County Senior High School. The event brought together skilled students from across the region, all competing to showcase their welding abilities in a highly competitive environment.
Kirkpatrick embraced the challenge and demonstrated both technical skill and focus throughout the contest. “It felt great being able to weld and compete,” he said, reflecting on the experience. His performance stood out among a strong field of participants, earning him a place in the top 25—an impressive accomplishment given the level of competition.
Competing at the regional level not only allowed Kirkpatrick to test his skills against other talented welders but also provided valuable experience that will benefit him in future competitions and potential career opportunities. His achievement highlights both his dedication to the craft and the strength of Boyle County High School’s welding program.
