On October 29th, the girls volleyball team traveled to Somerset Highschool to compete in the 2nd round of the Region Tournament!
The game lasted 4 sets with West Jessamine and Boyle dominating the court. The first set was a struggle for Boyle as they couldn’t find a rhythm. For West Jessamine, Junior Ashlyn Crutcher really stole the show with 5 kills. Boyle found every opportunity to battle back but the Colts still found a way to hit the open spots on the court.
After 2 sets Boyle finally put an end to the madness and won their first set. Junior, Lilly Turner had an outstanding game, she had 6 blocks added to her stat sheet this game. Fighting tooth and nail to claim the next set Boyle won the 3rd set! With the score 2-1 Boyle finally had the motivation and the drive to continue to fight.
The last set determined the next spot in the region championship. Boyle put up a fight but the Colts trotted their way to victory.
Boyle played with heart and pride this 2025 season. Their record may not show it but these girls fought every game and every set they were in. Congratulations to the girls volleyball team and how far they advanced and grew this season!

The Lady Rebels pulled off an incredible win Monday night, defeating Wayne County 3–2 in an intense five-set battle to advance to the regional semifinals. The match was a rollercoaster of emotions, with both teams trading points, sets, and momentum until the very end — but Boyle’s determination carried them through.
The Rebels came out strong early, setting the tone with energy and confidence. Wayne County fought back, pushing the match to a deciding fifth set that had everyone in the gym on their feet. Every serve, dig, and kill mattered, and the Rebels refused to back down. With clutch plays from all over the court and the crowd behind them, Boyle sealed the win and earned their spot in the semifinals.
This victory showed the heart and resilience of the team. After facing tough competition all season, the Rebels proved that their hard work paid off. Communication, hustle, and trust in each other made the difference when the pressure was highest.
As the Rebels move on, they’re not just chasing wins — they’re playing for each other. Every practice, every huddle, and every dive for the ball has brought them closer, and now they’re one step closer to their goal. The journey isn’t over yet, and Boyle County is ready for whatever comes next.

On October 23rd, Boyle County capped off an incredible run Thursday night by taking down rival Danville 3-0 to become district champions.
The Rebels came in strong and left even stronger, picking up their third straight win and their third sweep over the Admirals this season.
From the first serve, Boyle looked confident and locked in. Every point was earned through teamwork, energy, and focus. The Rebels front row dominated at the net, while the back row stayed solid on defense. The gym was full of energy as the team celebrated each hard-fought rally.
This win means a lot for these ladies. After working all season to improve and build chemistry, everything came together when it mattered most. The players' communication, hustle, and trust in one another showed why they deserved the title.
They compete in the Region Tournament on October 28th against Wayne County!

On October 21st, the Boyle County volleyball team came ready to play Tuesday night, taking down Danville Christian Academy 3-0 in the second round of the district tournament. The Rebels showed confidence and energy from the start, maintaining control of the game and never allowing DCA to find their rhythm.
Boyle’s strong serving and tough defense made the difference early. The team communicated well and hustled for every point, keeping momentum on their side throughout the match. Big plays at the net and consistent passing helped the Rebels maintain control throughout all three sets.
The win moves Boyle into the district championship and continues their impressive season run. The team’s chemistry and determination were clear on the court, and the players fed off each other’s energy every step of the way.

On Monday night, September 28th the Lady Rebels traveled to Garrard County High School to fight for another victory.
Boyle county played 3 sets and made sure to show that each set was theirs to win. Sophomore Lydia Turner quoted “It was a great game between Lilly, Charli, and Maleah. They all had a great hitting night and executed at the right times.” Senior Charli Grubbs had a fantastic game as she had 11 kills this game!
On the defensive side of the ball, Sophomore Peyton Kelley had 15 digs and made sure to keep the ball from touching the court at all costs. Her performance was absolutely incredible! All of the hard work and determination that her and our girls volleyball team has really revealed itself!
These amazing girls play against the Lincoln County Lady Patriots on September 30th, so make sure to clear your calendars for that!

Boyle County hosted a game against Garrard County on October 21st. By the 1st set the Lions came out roaring but Boyle managed to keep them quiet.
The 2nd set came around and Boyle felt all of the motivation they could possibly need. Sophomore Peyton Kelley was a defensive demon on the volleyball court. He managed to collect 8 digs this game as the starting libero. Boyle put forth so much effort and pulled through with another win for set 2.
Moving forward to the 3rd and final set Boyle made sure to keep this one short and simple. Finishing the game off with a clean 3-0 win. Sophomore Lydia Turner said, “This game was so much fun to watch as we communicated well and proved ourselves to be winners on the court.”
This is another district win for the Rebels and they will continue their winning streak as they play DCA away on the 23rd!

At the Rebel arena the Boyle county lady Rebels hosted their last regular season home game against Marion County.
The Boyle County Lady Rebels came out strong and never looked back in their matchup against Marion County, taking the win in straight sets. From the very first serve, Boyle showed energy, teamwork, and confidence that carried them through every play.
qIn the first set, the Rebels’ front row set the tone early with powerful hits and solid blocks that left Marion struggling to find their rhythm. Our defense, led by great digs and hustle plays, kept every rally alive. The student section was loud and supportive, pushing the team to keep their energy up.
The second set showed just how well Boyle communicates on the court. The team’s chemistry was obvious—every pass, set, and hit connected perfectly. Marion tried to fight back, but Boyle’s serves and smart plays at the net made it hard for them to keep up.

On Tuesday night, the Boyle County volleyball team brought home an exciting win against Danville Christian Academy. The Rebels came ready to play showing energy, teamwork, and determination that kept the crowd cheering between every set
From the opening serve, Boyle County set the tone with strong defense and sharp hitting. Our back row players made some key digs to keep rallies alive, and the front line attacked aggressively, putting pressure on DCA’s defense. The Rebels also played a big role, helping us grab momentum and build leads throughout the night.
What stood out most was the team's exceptional teamwork. Whenever a tough play came their way, the Rebels encouraged each other and responded with hustle. Every point mattered, and the energy on the court showed just how much the players wanted this win.
In the end, Boyle County’s effort paid off with a well-deserved victory. This win not only adds to the Rebels’ record, but it also demonstrates the progress the team is making as the season continues. If Tuesday night was any sign, Boyle County volleyball is ready to keep competing and stacking up more wins.

On September 25th the Boyle County Girls Volleyball team traveled to Danville to compete for another win!
This game was filled with lots of pride and vengeance as Boyle came onto Danville’s court ready for another win. The first set started off hot as each side was playing the ball very well. Senior Charli Grubb and Junior Maleeah Smith both had a fantastic hitting game, they collectively had 15 kills!
The 1st set was easy as the Rebels fought hard to secure a 1-0 score. As both teams advanced to the 2nd set Danville made sure to put up a fight. As the last point was on the line a Junior Lilly Turner took her time and absolutely demolished the ball right at the libero’s feet to secure point number 2 for the Lady Rebels.
Last set and Boyle made sure to make a statement that they were here to play. This set in particular really pushed our girls to go 100% and finish the battle that they started and lead them to another victory!
The Volleyball team will be playing this weekend September 27th in Louisville!

On September 20th, the Boyle County Rebels took on Lincoln County at home for another big volleyball matchup.
The gym was full of energy, and Boyle came out strong from the first serve. The Rebels played with great communication and confidence, controlling the pace of the game early on.
Their serves were consistent, defense solid, and hitters found open spots all night. Every player brought intensity, and the bench stayed loud, keeping the energy high through every set. A Sophomore, Peyton Kelley quoted “This game really brought us together as a team.”
Boyle stayed locked in and never let Lincoln gain momentum, finishing the game with a clean 3–0 sweep.
This win showed just how much the team has grown this season, staying focused and playing together no matter what. It was a great night to be a Rebel in front of a supportive home crowd.

Boyle County had a great win against the Lady Patriots on Thursday night. After coming off a lost Tuesday, Boyle was looking for something to keep them pushing.
In the 1st and 2nd sets of the game, the Rebels thought it was gonna be an easy win. Coming into the third set, Lincoln started to fight back, going on a run after scoring point after point. The Patriots were up in the third set when the Rebels called a timeout. Coach Wheeler talked to her players. We do not know what was said, but it was clear to everybody watching that it worked. Sophomore AJ Conley says, “ It was a great game and we played great.”
The Rebels fought back in the third set, but the Patriots were not going to let them secure the win easily. The Rebels and Patriots fought back and forth with every point being matched by the opposing team. In the end, the Rebels secured the Win.
Our girls will be on the road next Tuesday against Henry Clay. Make sure to cheer them on for their next game!

On September 4th, the Lady Rebels welcomed Trinity Christian Academy to a wholesome matchup.The night before Boyle played Woodford county; these girls were running on little energy.
The 1st set was a challenge as Trinity Christian has some very talented girls on their team. But with a lot of fight still left in the Rebels they managed to keep the score tight but they just couldn’t hold on long enough. The score 0-1 with Boyle down, our girls still had just enough energy to battle onto the 2nd set.
The 2nd set was still a struggle for our ladies as they just couldn’t find their flow of the game. Sophomore Lydia Turner said “This game was really rough as a whole. Honestly we just couldn’t figure out how to stop them.” Trinity Christian stole another point and made the score 0-2.
Boyle still wanted to battle through the 3rd set but Trinity Christian still managed to hold their own and finish the game off with a clean 0-3 score.
The Lady Rebels play Tates Creek on September 6th! Make sure to cheer them on and to wish them some luck for their next win!

The Lady Rebels anticipated to compete against Garrard County at the Boyle County arena. This was an absolute shut down of a volleyball game on Monday, September 8th! This game was filled with lots of excitement and an active student section.
The first set was very energetic as the Lady Rebels made sure to show that they came to play. Ashlen Young, a senior player for Boyle County stated “Everyone played very loose and had the mindset that we are going to win.” Ashlen is a very good leader to her team and puts in a lot of work and effort to make sure that she is known on the volleyball court.
After winning the first set the girls made sure to show dominance and show off in the second set. With the ball continuously going back and forth over the net Charli Grubbs, a senior, absolutely killed the ball. Charli had 11 kills this game! A freshman Josie Elliott, a freshman on the volleyball team said “Charli had a fantastic game last night! She was so confident in this game and played as if nothing else mattered in the moment.” Josie was very complimentary of Charli and so was the rest of the team.
After winning the second set Boyle made sure to stay in this game and steal the win. This was a phenomenal game by this talented group of volleyball players. With all of the work they put in I couldn’t think of a better example of a team with grit and determination. Make sure to wish the Lady Rebels good luck for their next game against West Jessamine High School!

On Wednesday night, Boyle County faced off against Woodford County. Unfortunately, they came up short, losing 3–1. This was a tough loss for the Lady Rebels, especially since it’s the second game in a row they’ve dropped.
Even though the score wasn't the result they wanted, Boyle fought hard through every set. There were moments where the team showed great effort and teamwork, but Woodford managed to take control when it mattered most. Peyton Kelley stated “
This loss puts Boyle County’s record at 2–3, while Woodford improves to 4–1. Even though things haven’t been easy, the Rebels are determined to bounce back.
Boyle County will get that chance Thursday night when they play Trinity Christian Academy at home at 6:30. With support from our home crowd, the Rebels are ready to regroup and fight for a win.

The Boyle County Volleyball team gave their all on Tuesday night in a tough match against the Taylor County Cardinals. Even though the Cardinals came out on top, the Rebels played with heart, energy and showed a lot of fight in this game.
Right from the first serve, both teams went back and forth, trading points in long rallies. The crowd was on its feet, absorbing every play. Boyle County’s defense really stood out with players diving to save balls and the front row working hard at the net.
Sophomore Peyton Kelley said, “We battled, but came up short at the end of the sets.” Still, after a late run from Taylor County, the Rebels dropped the fight In the second set, Boyle County came back strong. With confident serving and big swings from the outside hitters, they battled point for point. The set stayed close all the way through, and even though Taylor County just barely pulled ahead in the end, the Rebels showed how much fight they had in them.
The Boyle County Volleyball team always puts forth 100% every set, even if the result is a loss. The next game will be held at home against Woodford County on September 3rd!

The Boyle girls' volleyball team just competed against Southwestern on the road last Tuesday. This game was very eventful as the Lady Rebels played a very aggressive and very disciplined team.
Lilly Turner, a Junior who is an Outside hitter for the volleyball team, quoted this: “Southwestern is excellently coached. Their coach is actually really good friends with our coach, and they have a great team, and it’s always good competition.” Each set was a battle as Boyle and Southwestern fought tooth and nail in each set.
Four sets were played as Boyle came home with the win, with the score being 3-1. Ashlen Young, a Senior, played an amazing game as she really had a good connection with Charli Grubbs that game. As Charli had 8 kills this game! Ashlen Young stated that “There were lots of moments for everyone that were really good. We all told ourselves that this is our game and we can’t look past this team, but we shouldn’t play down to their level and play our game.”
This game really tested these fantastic ladies. They now have to keep up their winning record of 2-1 against Taylor County on August 28th!

Last night on October 31st, the Rebels made their way to West Jessamine to face off against the West Jessamine Colts in the 12th Region Championship game at 7:00PM.
The Rebels have not played the Colts in any regular season game, but the Rebels walked in the gym knowing they weren't going down without a fight! At the start of the first set, it was a very close game with the Rebels and the Colts trading points. The Colts ended up going on a run and won the first set 25-17.
The environment was very loud and energetic. Despite the Colts having the home court advantage, the Rebel Rowdies really showed out for their girls. Even though the Rebels were down one set, they still fought their hardest not knowing if this would be their last game. The Colts had a great run in the second set putting them up by a significant amount, which resulted in them taking the second set 25-15.
The Rebels did not give up though! It was a hard fought battle in the third set, both teams going back and forth! The Rebels went on a great run towards the end but it was stopped by the Colts when they won the last set 25-21.
Senior Maya Smith said “Going into the game we were very excited because volleyball hasn’t made it to a region finals game since 2010 so it was a very big deal to do this senior year! We all were encouraging each other and I think everyone played their hardest and did all they could.”

Last night on October 30th, the Boyle County Rebel Volleyball team traveled to West Jessamine to take on the Pulaski County Maroons in the 12th Region Semi-finals at 6:30PM.
Prior to this game, the Rebels had taken on the Maroons once before, taking the victory in five sets. However, Pulaski County was not going to let this define them. They walked in the gym with confidence and determination, you could see the courage on their faces.
The first and second sets were a toss up on who was going to win. The two teams split the first two sets 1-1, Boyle winning the first set 25-17 and Pulaski winning the second 25-17. Unfortunately, Senior and starting setter, Gracee Teague, was out due to an injury made in the first set. The Rebels would now have to battle even harder while losing their assist leader. The third set was even closer of a matchup. Though the Rebels held a 7 point lead at 20-13, the Maroons battled back up to make the score 24-23. The Rebels then secured the final point to take the third set!
The Maroons came out fighting in the fourth set, determined to take this game to five. They used their scrappy defense to keep the ball from landing on their side, putting them up nine points, 21-12, at one point. The Rebels weren’t fond of this lead that Pulaski was forming so they rallied back with a couple aces to make the score 24-21. To no surprise, the Maroons took hold of the fourth set and finished it off, making the final score of the fourth 25-21.
The fans in the gym were roaring with excitement going into the fifth set, with both teams chanting back and forth throughout the set. The Rebels got a good 3 point lead at the beginning, 5-2. Once they established this lead, they didn’t look back. They held the Maroons to 10 points and took the fifth set 15-10 to win the game!
Senior Kendra Christopher offered words of wisdom during the game: “We have to keep our energy high and play for one another”. When asked about last night's game, Junior Ashlen Young who had to step in and set for the Rebels said, “The game went well as we were thrown a curveball when Gracee went down. But we knew we had to come together even more and everyone had to step up and just play their best.”
The Rebels will now play tonight in the finals at 7:00PM at West Jessamine against West Jessamine. Be there to support our Rebels!

Last night, on October 28th the volleyball team faced off Trinity Christian Academy in the first round of the 12th Region Tournament. Last time we played them, the game went to 5 sets, but the Rebels ultimately pulled through for the win. The game started off slow for the Rebels falling short in the first set losing 23-25.
The Rebels responded the right way in the second set coming out firing! The Rebels went on a run at the start of the set. Using that momentum, the Rebels finished the set 25-20. With the game 1-1 going into the 3rd set It could be anyone's game, but the Rebels take the 3rd set 25-17. The Rebels had the advantage going into the 4th set, so they took the game and ran with winning the game 3-1
Sophomore Lilly Turner said, “We were confident going into the game last night. We played them a couple weeks prior to last night's game and did well. I think we did really good in last night's game and we are ready for tomorrow's game against Pulaski!”

Last night on October 24th, the Boyle County Rebel Volleyball team faced off in the 45th District Championship against Garrard. This game was exhilarating and every one in the gym was racing with excitement. Going into this game, the Rebels were 27-9 and the Golden Lions were 12-17. Though the records may speak one way, the Lions have always put the Rebels to the test, taking them to five sets in the last game.
The first set went as expected by the Rebels, taking the set 25-13. The momentum in the gym was fired up by the impressive student sections for both teams. Fans were waving black and gold shakers around in the gym in unity as the room filled with cheers when Kendra Christopher had back to back to back aces! Though the Golden Lions got an early lead in the second set, some hard fought plays pushed the Rebels back to take the second set 25-20!
Boyle continued with their dominant offense the rest of the game, winning the third set big, 25-5! Senior Gracee Teague states, “Our defense started the game for us. We were very scrappy and were picking up every hit that came to us. Our great defense then set up our offense for success. With all of the fans cheering, our momentum just got higher. Even in times that we were down a little, we never let them get away from us.”
Teague was one of the four Boyle volleyball players selected into the 2024 45th Volleyball All-District team. Kendra Christopher, Charli Grubbs, and Maya Smith were selected as well. The Rebels will now move on to the 12th Region tournament next week! Go Rebels!

Last night, on October 22nd at 6:00pm the Rebels Volleyball team faced cross-town rivals, Danville High School at Lincoln County High School in the semi-finals of the 45th District Tournament. Both teams fought their hardest not knowing if that could be their last game.
Using their energy and motivation, the Rebels started off strong taking the first set 25 to 10! Although Danville was fighting the best they could trying to come back and tie things up, the Rebels won the second set 25 to 13! With the game 2-0, going into the 3rd set the Rebels used that to their advantage to take the 3rd set 25-14, winning the game in 3 straight sets!
It was an amazing game for some of our Rebels last night! Senior Gracee Teague had 30 assists! Seniors Maya Smith and Kendra Christopher combined for 25 digs! Junior Charli Grubbs who ended the game with 16 kills said “ I was confident in my skills and in my teammates. We played as a whole team and not just 6 individuals.” Which caused great communication to get the job done.
The Rebels will play again in the District Championship at Lincoln County High School on Thursday October 24 at 7:00pm against Garrard County High School!

The Boyle County Lady Rebels faced off against Tates Creek on September 9th, in a tough matchup that tested their grit and teamwork. Even though it wasn’t an easy game, the Rebels showed heart, effort, and fight all the way through every set.
From the start, both teams came out strong. Tates Creek had some height and quick hitters, but Boyle didn’t back down. The Rebels kept their energy high with strong serves, good passes, and smart plays at the net. Every point felt earned, and the crowd was locked in from start to finish.
In the second set, Boyle started to find their rhythm. The defense tightened up, and the hitters started connecting. You could see the communication improving with every rally — the team was playing as one unit, picking each other up and never giving in.
Even though Tates Creek made it a challenge, Boyle stayed composed and fought for every point until the end. The game showed how much this team has grown — from their hustle on the court to their support for each other, they continue to play with heart and pride.

Last night, on October 15th at 6:45, the Lady Rebel Volleyball team faced off on the road against Trinity Christian Academy out of Louisville in their last regular season game. This strong-willed team continued to show their fight that they had been displaying all season in five full sets.
The game started off in their favor. With the defense disorganized, and lots of energy on both sides of the ball, the Rebels took the first set 25-21. They continued with their persistent defense to set up success for their offense. Unfortunately, Trinity Christian took the second set, winning 25-20.
The Rebels responded well and they came back winning the third set 25-14. According to senior Kendra Christopher, the Rebels “Struggled maintaining momentum in the second and fourth sets” which caused them to fall behind and create that fifth set.
Fortunately, they picked themselves up and managed to get the win in the fifth set, 15-10. Kendra Christopher states, “Nothing huge happened. Our defense was very scrappy, getting up a lot of loose balls, and setting up offense for success. But, we fought back and pulled through with the win”.
The Lady Rebel Volleyball team will play again next week in their first round of the 45th District Tournament!
