The Constitution Cup stays at home. Thursday the 4th, both Boyle's soccer teams played against Danville at home in the annual Danville vs Boyle Constitution cup, double header.
Both teams walked off the field with a trophy in hand. Our Lady Rebels played first at 6 pm at the rebel stadium, where they defeated the Admirals 8-0. The Rebels had a slow start in the first half with a few good shots. The first goal was scored by Addison Hazlett at the 10-minute mark, followed by a beautiful cross and goal from Claire Combs, connecting to Ellery Taylor, who finished it. Mia Kilby had a 30-yard shot shortly after, but it was stopped by the keeper. Claire Combs received her second goal at 26 minutes, which Maggie Burke assisted. Mia Kilby had a breakaway right before the half ended, making the score 4-0 going into the second half.
The Rebels came out with lots of energy. The Rebels had possession at kickoff with a strong lead. The 5th goal was a result of a mishap at the 15-yard line, where the center ref disrupted the play, resulting in a drop ball to Boyle. Mia Kilby took advantage of this and scored in the lower left corner goal.
The highlight of the game happened shortly after when Mia Kilby had a shot that bounced off the crossbar to senior Ellory Taylor, who headed it into the goal over the keeper. Another header resulted in a 7th goal for Boyle shortly after. Senior Regan Britt had a beautiful corner shot which was headed into the goal by Senior defender Braylee Leffew. Sophomore Claire Combs finished the game with a goal at the 64-minute mark, sending the Admirals home and securing the Constitution cup.

The first half was very quiet in terms of scoring, but both teams were being very aggressive and fighting hard for the win. The first half ended 0-0, with senior goalkeeper Bryce Combs having a very active first half with 11 saves.
The Rebels feel amazing heading into the 2nd half. The Rebels get a corner with 27 minutes left in the game and sophomore Maverick Toon takes a corner kick and puts it right on the six, where junior Welles Delair scores the 1st goal of the game.
The Rebels were feeling amazing but they knew their job wasn’t finished. The defensive side of the ball was played perfectly, stopping all the opportunities for Danville. With two minutes left junior Zach Kirechner passed the ball to Eli Wilson, who dribbled past the defensive line and scored to give the Rebels a 2-0 lead. The Rebels end up closing out and winning 2-0! Senior goalkeeper Bryce Combs recorded 17 saves and a clean sheet. Bryce Combs states, “I'm very proud of our team and what we can become by the end of the season.”

Last night on October 17th, the girls soccer team played an outstanding game against Southwestern in the 12th Region Semifinals. All the girls on this team have been very determined to prove how remarkably hard they’ve been working during this season.
