On Friday, the track and field team competed in an invitational meet at Woodford County, which also served as a CKC competition. The Rebels delivered a strong performance as they continue preparing for regionals
The boys team scored a total of 39 points. In the 110-meter hurdles, Nathan Bell placed 7th with a time of 19.53, earning 2 points. Adam Cooper finished 8th in the 1600-meter run with a time of 4:48.29, adding 1 point. The 4x100-meter relay team placed 7th with a time of 47.27, contributing 2 points. In the 400-meter dash, Chandler Durham placed 4th with a time of 53.89, earning 5 points.
The girls team finished with a total of 59 points. The 4x800-meter relay team placed 7th with a time of 12:10.67, earning 2 points. In the 4x200-meter relay, the team ran 1:53.32 to finish 5th, adding 4 points. The 4x100-meter relay placed 6th with a time of 53.79, contributing 3 points. In the 400-meter dash, Lucy May placed 3rd with a time of 1:02.75, while Claire Combs finished 4th in 1:02.64, combining for 14 points. In the 200-meter dash, Stella Thompson placed 2nd with a time of 26.61, and Maggie Burke finished 6th in 28.21, adding a total of 11 points.
Both teams also performed well in the field events. In the high jump, Shelby Thompson placed 6th with a height of 4-8, and Abigail Heath finished 8th with 4-4, combining for 4 points. On the boys side, Garion McPherson won the high jump with a clearance of 5-10, earning 10 points. In the pole vault, Andrew Lockhart placed 3rd with a height of 12-0, adding 6 points.
In the long jump, Stella Thompson placed 2nd with a jump of 15-9, while Lucy May finished 3rd with 14-9.5, combining for 14 points. Garion McPherson also placed 3rd in the boys long jump with a mark of 19-5.5, earning 6 points. In the triple jump, Stella Thompson placed 3rd with a jump of 34-3, adding 6 points. In the boys discus, John Hockensmith finished 7th with a throw of 137-10, earning 2 points.
Overall, the Woodford meet marked another solid outing for the Rebels as they prepare for their final all-comers meet before heading into regional competition.

It was a strong weekend for the track and field team as they competed in the Colonel Relays. The boys' team placed 5th with 65 points, while the girls earned 3rd place with 102.5 points.
The boys had several standout performances. In the 110m hurdles, Nathan Bell placed 2nd with a time of 18.78, and he went on to take 1st in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:03.29. In the 100m, Garion McPherson placed 5th in 11.65. McPherson also had a big day in the field events, winning the high jump with a mark of 6-0 and the long jump with a jump of 20-8. Trey Mack added a 5th-place finish in the high jump at 5-4. In pole vault, Andrew Lockhart took 1st with a mark of 12-6, while David Norman placed 5th at 9-0. Bryce Combs rounded out the boys' results with a 3rd-place finish in shot put, throwing 44-1.5.
The girls' team also delivered impressive results. Stella Thompson led the way, placing 1st in both the 100m (12.85) and 200m (26.16), while also winning the triple jump with a mark of 34-10.5. She added a 2nd-place finish in the long jump with a jump of 17-2.5. In the relays, the 4x100m team placed 2nd with a time of 53.15, and the 4x200m team finished 4th in 1:41.52. In the 400m, Lucy May placed 2nd in 1:00.61, followed by Claire Combs in 4th with a time of 1:02.23. Lucy May also placed 3rd in the long jump (15-6.5) and triple jump (31-4). In the 400m hurdles, the team placed 6th with a time of 1:21.12. Shelby Thompson added a 4th-place finish in the high jump at 4-6, and Dani Ferrie placed 2nd in pole vault with a mark of 8-0.
The team will be back in action this Friday, May 1, as they travel to Wofford County for their next meet.

Another successful weekend for track and field saw the girls team place first with 153 points, while the boys team placed third with 106 points.
There were many notable results from the meet.
In the girls 100m hurdles, Izzy Phillips placed 4th with a time of 19.04, earning 5 points for the team. Sharon Heist placed 7th with a time of 20.50, adding 2 points.
In the boys 110m hurdles, Nathan Bell placed 5th with a time of 18.87, earning 4 points for the boys team.
In the girls 100m dash, Stella Thompson placed 2nd with a time of 12.76, earning 8 points, while Maggie Burke placed 3rd with a time of 13.12, adding 6 points.
In the boys 100m, Garion McPherson placed 8th with a time of 11.80, earning 1 point.
The girls 4x200m relay team placed 1st with a time of 1:52.71, earning 10 points. The boys 4x200m relay team placed 3rd with a time of 1:35.77, adding 6 points.
In the girls 1600m, Lexi Preston placed 7th with a time of 7:04.63, earning 2 points. In the boys 1600m, Adam Cooper placed 5th with a time of 4:53.30, earning 4 points.
The girls 4x100m relay team placed 2nd with a time of 54.03, earning 8 points, while the boys 4x100m team placed 2nd with a time of 46.01, also earning 8 points.
In the girls 400m, Lucy May placed 2nd with a time of 1:02.80, earning 8 points.
In the boys 400m, Chandler Durham placed 1st with a time of 53.03, earning 10 points, while Carlos Cozar-Cervantes placed 4th with a time of 55.29, adding 5 points.
In the girls 300m hurdles, Sharon Heist placed 2nd with a time of 54.85, earning 8 points, and Izzy Phillips placed 3rd with a time of 55.83, earning 6 points. In the boys 300m hurdles, Nathan Bell placed 1st with a time of 45.52, earning 10 points.
In the girls 800m, Siddalea Gray placed 6th with a time of 2:50.11, earning 3 points. In the boys 800m, Chandler Durham placed 4th with a time of 2:12.42, earning 5 points.
In the girls 200m, Stella Thompson placed 2nd with a time of 26.92, earning 8 points, while Jaryn Smith placed 3rd with a time of 28.03, earning 6 points. In the boys 200m, John Mack placed 4th with a time of 23.41, earning 5 points.
In the girls 3200m, Abby Brown placed 2nd with a time of 14:57.55, earning 8 points, and Katherine Cooper placed 3rd with a time of 15:26.49, adding 6 points.
The girls 4x400m relay team placed 2nd with a time of 4:40.64, earning 8 points, while the boys team placed 3rd with a time of 3:45.50, earning 6 points.

In girls discus, NaRiyah Graves placed 7th with a mark of 75-0, earning 2 points. In boys discus, John Hockersmith placed 3rd with a mark of 134-1, earning 6 points, while Landon Campbell placed 5th with a mark of 101-6, earning 4 points.
In girls long jump, Stella Thompson placed 1st with a mark of 16-5.50, earning 10 points, and Lucy May placed 3rd with a mark of 15-6, earning 6 points. In boys long jump, Garion McPherson placed 4th with a mark of 19-10.5, earning 5 points.
In girls triple jump, Stella Thompson placed 2nd with a mark of 34-5.5, earning 8 points, while Lucy May placed 4th with a mark of 31-1, earning 5 points. In boys triple jump, Kamari Francisco placed 3rd with a mark of 37-6, earning 6 points.
In girls high jump, Shelby Thompson placed 2nd with a mark of 4-10, earning 8 points, and Abigail Heath placed 5th with a mark of 4-6, earning 4 points. In boys high jump, Trey Mack placed 5th with a mark of 5-0, earning 4 points.
In girls pole vault, Dani Ferrie placed 3rd with a mark of 6-6, earning 6 points. In boys pole vault, Andrew Lochart placed 2nd with a mark of 11-0, earning 8 points, and David Norman placed 4th with a mark of 8-6, earning 5 points.
The next meet for track and field will be held at Bourbon County on Saturday, April 25th.

On Wednesday, the track and field team competed at the All-Comers/Hybrid Meet at Danville Admirals Stadium. It was a strong showing for the Rebels, as both teams finished on top. The boys tied Mercer County for first with 140 points, while the girls placed first overall with 184.5 points.
Nathan Bell added six points in the 110m hurdles with a 19.79. Bubby McPherson ran 11.79 in the 100m dash, earning two points. The 4x200 relay team of Carlos Cozar-Cervantes, John Mack, Trey Mack, and Jansen Barnes finished third with a 1:36.76, adding six points.
Adam Cooper won the 1600m with a 4:52.94 and the 3200m with a 10:42.52, totaling 20 points. The 4x100 relay of John Mack, Jansen Barnes, Trey Mack, and Garion McPherson finished third with 46.28, adding six points.
Chandler Durham won the 400m in 54.20, while Carlos Cozar-Cervantes finished fourth in 55.42, totaling 15 points. Durham also won the 800m in 2:10.67, adding 10 points. John Mack finished fifth in the 200m with 23.93, adding five points.
The 4x400 relay team of Carlos Cozar-Cervantes, Jackson Thornberry, Nathan Bell, and Chandler Durham finished first with a 3:50.04, adding 10 points.
The 4x800 finished second with 12:11.91, adding eight points. In the 100m hurdles, Mia Kilby ran 17.74, and Sharon Heist ran 20.31, combining for six points.
In the 100m, Stella Thompson finished first with 12.96, Maggie Burke third with 13.32, and Claire Combs fourth with 13.46, totaling 21 points. The 4x200 finished second in 1:51.89, and the 4x100 finished second in 53.60, each adding eight points.
Lucy May won the 400m in 1:01.89, and Claire Combs finished third in 1:02.59, totaling 16 points. Mia Kilby finished second in the 300m hurdles with 51.05, and Izzy Phillips finished eighth with 56.64, adding nine points. Siddalea Gray finished fourth in the 800m with 2:48.34, adding five points.
In the 200m, Stella Thompson finished first (26.73), Claire Combs second (27.97), Reece Klosterman sixth (28.40), and Jaryn Smith seventh (28.40), totaling 23 points. The 4x400 finished first in 4:31.76, adding 10 points.
In girls' high jump, Shelby Thompson finished first (5-0), Abigail Heath fifth (4-6), and Charli Grubbs seventh (4-4), totaling 14.5 points. Trey Mack finished fifth in boys' high jump, adding four points.
In girls' pole vault, Reece Klosterman finished first (9-0), and Dani Ferrie third (8-0), totaling 16 points. In boys pole vault, Andrew Lockhart finished first (13-6), David Norman fourth (9-0), and Griffin Lamb sixth (8-0), totaling 18 points.
In girls' long jump, Stella Thompson finished first (16-9.50), and Lucy May fifth (15-5.50), totaling 14 points. Garion McPherson finished second in boys' long jump with 20-8, adding eight points.
In the girls' triple jump, Stella Thompson finished first (33-4.50), and Maddie Fields finished fifth (28-10), totaling 14 points. In girls' shot put, Addie Mayes finished sixth (26-5), and NaRiyah Graves seventh (26-2), totaling five points.
In boys discus, John Hockersmith finished second (135-6), and Landon Campbell fifth (109-11), totaling 12 points. In boys' shot put, Bryce Combs finished first (40-11), and Landon Campbell second (39-3), totaling 18 points.
The Rebels performed well at the All-Comers meet and now prepare for the Somerset Invitational this Saturday.

On Thursday, the track and field team delivered an outstanding performance. The boys team placed 2nd overall with 93 points, while the girls team took 1st place with an impressive 143 points.
Many athletes contributed to the team’s success. The girls 4x800m relay team of Lexi Preston, Katherine Cooper, Austyn Sawtelle, and Siddalea Gray placed 2nd with a time of 12:40, earning 8 points. Mia Kilby placed 3rd in the girls 100m hurdles (17.59), adding 6 points, while Nathan Bell took 2nd in the boys 110m hurdles (19.07), earning 8 points.
In the girls 100m dash, Stella Thompson, Maggie Burke, Claire Combs, and Reece Klosterman all placed in the top eight, combining for 14 points. The girls 4x200m relay team (Burke, Combs, Klosterman, Kilby) finished 1st with a time of 1:53.22, adding 10 points.
Siddalea Gray placed 4th in the girls 1600m (6:45.42), earning 4 points. On the boys side, Adam Cooper won the 1600m in 4:55.74, securing 10 points.
The girls 4x100m relay team (Maggie Burke, Claire Combs, Sharon Heist, and Jaryn Smith) took 1st place with a time of 53.19, earning another 10 points. Lucy May won the girls 400m (1:04.28), and Carlos Cozar-Cervantes took 1st in the boys 400m (57.06), each contributing 10 points to their teams.
In the 300m hurdles, Mia Kilby placed 2nd (51.36) and Nathan Bell also placed 2nd (45.84), each earning 8 points. Chandler Durham added 8 points with a 2nd-place finish in the boys 800m (2:11.37).
The girls continued to dominate in the 200m, with Stella Thompson, Claire Combs, Jaryn Smith, and Lucy May all placing in the top eight, combining for 16 points. Abby Brown placed 5th in the girls 3200m (15:18.97), earning 2 points.
The boys 4x400m relay team (John Mack, Nathan Bell, Chandler Durham, and Carlos Cozar-Cervantes) finished 2nd in 3:45.82, adding 8 points. The girls 4x400m team (Shelby Thompson, Meg Hundley, Siddalea Gray, and Mia Kilby) took 1st place with a time of 4:45.08, earning 10 points.
In field events, Landon Campbell placed 4th in boys shot put (39-0) and Bryce Combs placed 5th (38-0), combining for 6 points. In girls discus, NaRiyah Graves placed 6th (74-10), earning 1 point. For the boys discus, John Hockersmith (5th) and Landon Campbell (6th) combined for 3 points.
In the girls long jump, Stella Thompson placed 2nd (15-4) and Lucy May placed 6th (14-4), adding 9 points. Garion McPherson won the boys long jump (18-7), earning 10 points.
Stella Thompson also won the girls triple jump (34-0), while Lucy May placed 4th (30-9), combining for 14 points. KaMari Francisco placed 4th in the boys triple jump (37-7), earning 4 points.
In the high jump, Shelby Thompson tied for 1st (4-10) and Abigail Heath placed 5th (4-8), adding 11 points for the girls. Trey Mack placed 4th in the boys high jump (5-2), earning 6 points.
In pole vault, Reece Klosterman placed 2nd (8-0) and Dani Ferrie placed 5th (7-0), combining for 10 points for the girls. Andrew Lockhart won the boys pole vault (13-0), while Maximus Owens placed 5th (7-6), adding 12 points for the boys.
The track and field team will compete again on Saturday, April 11th.

At the Indoor State meet in Louisville, the energy was high, and the competition was strong. Despite the tough field, the Boyle County girls' team had an impressive performance and finished 3rd place in the state.
In the 55m hurdles, Mia Kilby ran a 9.84 and finished 8th, earning the girls' team 1 point. Stella Thompson had a strong performance in her events, finishing in the top five and placing 4th to earn 5 points for the team.
The relay teams also contributed valuable points. In the 4x2 relay, both the boys and girls teams scored. The girls finished 5th with a time of 1:54.82, earning 4 points, while the boys finished 8th with a time of 1:36.06. In the 400m dash, Lucy May placed 5th and added 4 more points for the girls' team. Stella Thompson also competed in the 200m dash, finishing 6th with a time of 27.28 and earning 3 points.
The girls closed out the running events in the 4x4 relay, where they finished 5th with a time of 4:31.08 and added another 4 points to the team total.
The field events were also a big part of the team’s success. In the girls' long jump, both Stella Thompson and Lucy May finished in the top eight. Stella placed 2nd with a jump of 16-5.25, while Lucy jumped 15-11.75. Together, they earned a combined 12 points for the team. In the girls' triple jump, Stella and Lucy again finished in the top eight, combining for another 12 points.
For the boys, Draedon Littlejohn, an 8th grader, placed 6th in the triple jump with a jump of 40-10.25, earning 3 points. In the girls' pole vault, Reece Klosterman finished 3rd with a vault of 8-0 and added 6 points. Andrew Lockhart also scored for the boys, finishing 4th in the pole vault with a height of 13-0 and earning 5 points.
Overall, the Boyle County girls scored 60.5 points, securing 3rd place at the Indoor State meet. It was a strong showing for the Rebels, and the team now looks ahead as they prepare for the upcoming outdoor track season.

On Tuesday, the girls track and field team competed at Alvis Johnson Field with some magnificent performances as they placed 3rd in the team overall, with 104 points.
It started with the 100m dash, where we had 5 players finish in the top 10 and Freshman Stella Thompson placing 1st with a time of 13.21, getting the team 10 points, Senior Kendra Christopher placing 2nd with a personal record time of 13.74, and getting the team 8 points, and lastly Claire Combs placing 4th with a time of 13.92.
Other results for the 100m dash include Shelby Thompson's 9th place, Delilah Minor's 10th place, and Jaryn Smith's 11th place. Also, the 200m had some amazing results with 4 players placing top 6, Freshman Stella Thompson placing 1st with a time of 26.65, getting the team 10 points, Senior Kendra Christopher placing 2nd with a time of 27.90, getting the team 8 points, Sophomore Shebly Thompson placing 5th with a time of 29.86, and Izzy Philips placing 6th with a personal record time of 30.07.
Another great result from the meet is in the high jump, Shelby Thompson placed 1st with a personal record mark of 5-0, getting the team 10 points, Abigail Heath placed 5th with a mark of 4-4, getting the team 2 points, and Maddie Fields placed 6th with a mark of 4-4. The dynamic duo in the long jump and triple jump are Stella Thompson and Kendra Christopher. In the Long Jump, Stella Thompson placed 1st with an outstanding third jump, getting a mark of 16-1, gaining the team 10 points, and Kendra Christopher placed 2nd with an incredible mark of 15-7.50, getting the team 8 points. Then, in the triple jump, Stella Thompson placed 3rd with a mark of 33-0, getting the team 6 points, and Kendra Christopher placed 4th, getting 4 points with a mark of 31-10.
More results from other events include the 4x100m team placing 6th, getting the team 1 point (Mckenzy Neyhouse, Lexi Preston, Izzy Phillips, Lauren Burdine). Lucy may placed 2nd in the 400m with a personal record time of 1:00.64, getting the team 8 points, Anni Huttenen placed 6th, getting the team 1 point, McKenzy Neyhouse getting 8th in the 800m, getting the team 8 points, Reece Klosterman placing 3rd in pole vault with a personal record mark of 8-0, getting the team 6 points, Dani Ferrie placed 4th with a mark of 7-6, getting the team 4 points.
As we get closer to the region and 2A State Tournament, many players are in the top 50 and 25 in the state for their events, and the team is getting incredible momentum before the postseason.
They compete next in the CKC Championships at Bourbon County in Paris, Kentucky!

On Thursday, the 1st, our girls track team competed in a very competitive and quickly ran invitational in Pulaski County. Although it was not easy with bad weather and tough competition, our girls came out with the win.
Some of our highest scoring placements: The 4x800, 4x200, 4x100, and 4x400, all relays, placed in the top 5 scoring a total of 29 points! In the 100 meter dash, Stella Thompson placed 2nd earning 8 points. In the 400 meter dash, Lucy May took the win scoring 10 points! In the 200 meter dash Kendra Christopher placed 3rd scoring 6 points and Stella Thompson took 1st scoring 10 points! In the girls 3200 meter run Aubrey White Placed 2nd earning the team 8 points. In high Jump, Shelby Thompson took first scoring the team 10 points! In pole vault, Reece Kolsterman and Dani Ferrie took the top two giving the girls 18 points! In the long jump Kendra Christopher placed 3rd and Stella Thompson placed 1st, Giving the girls 16 additional points.
Also, a special shout out to freshman Stella Thompson for receiving the Highest Score Award. She scored the most points out of every girl at the meet. She scored our team a total of 32 points! Thompson says, “I'm so proud of what this team has become. I love each and everyone of these girls like they are my family!”
The girls team is slowly moving their way to regions, there is still some time to go, the girls are eager to show the region all they have trained for. The next meet is another Mercer All Comers, at the Mercer county track and will be Tuesday May 6th!

At the Commodore Classic meet, the girls track and field placed third out of 19 teams with 68 points. Some amazing performances were shown from this event in cold temperatures and wind gusts blowing pretty fast, which had some effects on the results.
Stella Tompson placed first in the triple jump and keeps on improving with a jump of 33’10” and in the long jump placing 3rd with a jump of 16’7.5”. Kendra Christopher placed third with a jump of 33’1.5” and placed 6th in long jump with a jump of 15’9”.
This duo will be very fun to watch as we keep on getting closer to the postseason! Other results include, the 4x800 team placed 3rd, getting the team 5 points. The 4x200 team placed 5th and gained the team 4 points. The 4x400 team placed 2nd, getting the team 8 points. Maddie Fields placed 4th in high jump, gaining the team 5 points, Reece Klosterman placing 4th in pole vault, getting the team 5 points, and Dani Ferrie placing 5th in pole vault, getting the team 4 points.
Track and field's next meet is Thursday at the Randy Elmore Classic at Pulaski County!

Last weekend, the girls track and field team had some great results at the Eastern Relays, placing 20th, with 5 points. They competed against teams outside Kentucky, with 25 girls' teams competing.
Stella Thompson placed 4th with a mark of 35-04.25 and gained the girls team 5 points.
Coach Mark Brummett stated, “Freshman Stella Thompson had quite possibly her best invitational performance ever on one of track’s most competitive stages.”
Stella also had a PR in the 100-meter dash, with a time of 12.80, which ranks her first in Region 5. Stella also did amazing in the 200 as well with a time of 27.46, putting her 28th overall in the Eastern Relays!
Kendra Christopher had an amazing performance as well in the long jump and triple jump! The girls will compete next in the Tates Creek Classic.

On Tuesday, April 15th, our girls track team competed in the annual Boyle all comers meet. Our girls came home with a win of 133 points, with the next closest team scoring 87 points.
The scoring events consist of: The 4x800 Meter Relay (Scarlett Cabral, Aubrey White, Izzy Phillips, and Laykin Gatton) placed 3rd, scoring the team 6 points. Stella Thompson placed 4th in the 100 Meter Dash, scoring 5 points. The 4x200 meter relay (Sharon Heist, Shelby Thompson, Jaryn Smith, and Lucy May) placed 2nd, scoring the team 8 points. The 4x100 Meter Relay (Sharon Heist, Shelby Thompson, Reece Klosterman, and Jaryn Smith) also placed 2nd, scoring the team 8 points. Lucy May and Claire Combs raced in the 400 Meter Dash. Lucy placed 2nd scoring 8 points and Claire placed 5th, scoring 4 points.
Izzy Phillips and Sharon Heist competed in the 300 Meter Hurdles. Izzy placed 4th, scoring 5 points, and Sharon placed 5th scoring 4 points. In the 800 Meter Run, Laykin Gatton placed 3rd, scoring 6 points and Lucy May placed 5th, scoring 4 points. In the 200 Meter Dash Stella Thompson and Kendra Christopher competed getting 1st and 2nd! Stella scored 10 points and Kendra scored 8 points.
In the high jump, Shelby Thompson gained the team 8 points by placing 2nd, and Abigail Heath placed 6th receiving 3 points. In the long jump, Stella Thompson placed 1st with 10 points, and Kendra Christopher placed 2nd with 8 points. In the triple jump, Kendra Christopher placed 2nd scoring 8 points, and Stella Thompson placed 4th scoring 5 points. Anni Huttunen scored 2 points by placing 7th in shot put.
Coach Kelley Sawtelle says “Well we scored 133 points and came in 1st out of 16 teams! We had several girls try new events and excel in them and we had multiple PR’s. I’d say that the girls did fantastic!” Our next meet will be for our invitational team on Saturday the 19th. They will be competing in the eastern relays at the Louisville Track.

Girls track and field had an incredible showing at the first invitational at Mercer County, placing 4th with 58.50 points. Here are all the events that gained points, the 4x800 placed 7th (Siddalea Gray, Aubrey White, Mckenzy Neyhouse, and Laykin Gatton) with a time of 11:59.17, which scored the team 2 points.
Stella Thompson placed 7th in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.18 and gets the team 2 points, placed 4th in the 200m with a time of 26.32 getting 4 points, placed 4th in the long jump with a mark of 16-4, getting 5 points, placed 5th in the triple jump with a mark of 33-8 and getting the team 4 points.
The 4x200 team placed 4th (Jaryn Smith, Shelby Thompson, Sharon Heist, Lucy May) with a time of 1:53.55 and got the team 5 points. The 4x100m team placed 8th (Jaryn Smith, Shelby Thompson, Anni Huttunen, Sharon Heist) with a time of 54.63 and got the team 0.5 points.
Lucy may placed 3rd in the 400m dash with a time of 1:01.46 getting the team 6 points.Girls 4x400m placed 8th (Sharon Heist, Lucy May, Laykin Gatton, Shelby Tompson) with a time of 4:30.36 and getting the team 1 point.
Kendra Christopher placed 3rd in long jump with a mark of 16-6.50, got the team 6 points, also placing 1st in triple jump with a mark of 35-1 getting the team 10 points. Shelby Thompson placed 2nd with a mark of 5 getting the team 8 points. Dani Ferrie placed 5th in pole vault with a mark of 8 getting the team 4 points. Amazing performance from all the girls last weekend to get 4th place out of 25th! The next meet is senior night at Boyle, April 15th!

Last Monday our track team competed in their first meet of the season at the Mercer county track.
The girls team certainly held their own. There was outstanding effort in every event. The girls placed 2nd out of ten scoring teams, with a total of 103 points. Some of our highest scoring runners: Senior, Laykin Gatton, placed 2nd in the 800 meter run. Junior, Sharon Heist placed 4th in the 400 meter dash and 2nd in the 200 meter dash. Freshman, Stella Thompson, placed 1st in the 200 meter dash, 2nd in the 100 meter dash, 1st in long jump, and 2nd in triple jump. Senior, Kendra Christopher, placed 1st in triple jump.
Freshman jumper/runner, Stella Thompson says “I think the girls team had a good first meet, I can’t wait to see where we can get to by the end of the season!”
The next meet will be Heart of the Bluegrass at Mercer county track on April 12th!

On March 4th, the track team competed at the Indoor State. The girls team finished fourth with 41.50 combined team points, and the boys team finished 11th with a combined team points of 23.
Kendra Christopher placed 1st in the triple jump! In the first jump, Kendra got a mark of 33-9.25 but after that her mark kept on going up and she finished with a mark of 34-2.75, to solidify her spot and become a state champ! Kendra also placed 2nd in the long jump!
Some other results: Stella Thompson placed 4th in the girls long jump and triple jump, Andrew Lockhart placed 8th in the Boys Pole Vault with a mark of 11-0, Laykin Gatton placed 13th in the Girls 800 meter, Izzy Phillips placed 16th in the girls 800 meters Run, Colin Lay placed 13th in the Boys 400 meter Dash with a time of 53.45, Lucy May placed 10th in the 400m girls run, Maximus Kilby placed 14th in the Boys 400 meter Dash, Adam Cooper placed 10th with a time of 4:49.20 in the Boys 1600 meter Run, Boys 4x200 Meter Relay (Caleb Branam, Colin Lay, Brock Driver, Maximus Kilby) placed 2nd with a time of 1:34.51, Andrew Nason placed 6th in the boys 55-meter dash and 4th in the 55-meter hurdles. And many other amazing scores! What an amazing Indoor State meet for the Rebels!

Another successful weekend was held for indoor track and field!
The girls placed third in the team competition. In the girls 4x200m Kendra Christopher, Claire Combs, Sharon Heist, and Lucy May broke the indoor school record with an impressive time of 1:55.03. When asked what it means for your team to break the 4x200m record, Freshman Claire Combs said, “It means a lot, and I am very happy with my team right now. It's a great accomplishment, and I believe our team will do very well this year indoor and outdoor!” Also, some notable results: Stella Thompson placed 4th in the girls 200m with a time of 27.44, Kendra Christopher in the triple jump placed 2nd with a mark of 34-11.75, another result from the triple jump Stella Thompson placed 3rd with a mark of 34-9.
The boys also placed 3rd in the team competition. In the boys 4x200m, Caleb Branam, Gordon Brown, Brock Driver, and Maximus Kilby finished with an impressive time of 1:35.36, which broke the modern indoor record! Caleb Branam states when asked how exciting he was for his team getting the record “It was an exciting feeling, we ran really fast and I’m very excited for state next Tuesday”.Moving on to field, John Hockersmith placed 2nd in the weight throw with 52-5 feet, and Alan Wireman placed 4th in the triple jump with a mark of 38-8.25.
Lets see what these rebels can do at Indoor State next Tuesday!

On Saturday, February 8th the track team competed at the Centre College all age indoor meet.
This meet the Rebels broke seven school records. Stella Thompson broke both the 55 meter dash and the 200 meter dash records. Andrew Nason broke the 200 meter dash record. The 4x200 meter relay, Colin Lay, Brock Driver, Max Kilby, and Caleb Branam, set a new indoor record. Adam Cooper broke the 1600 meter record, and also set the 3200 meter record. Lastly, Izzy Phillips broke the 1600 meter record.
Senior jumper Alan Wireman says “The team did very well so early in the season, we’re all very excited for the meets to come.”
The next track meet will be the Central Kentucky Conference indoor championship on February the 21st at Centre College.

On Saturday, The Boyle County Track and Field team competed in the 6-Way Border Battle track meet at Centre College. The Boyle County girls placed 5th overall with a point total of 76, the boys also placed 5th with 66.50 points.
Both teams had impressive results across the board, and were led by field event points. Of the girls 76 points, 48 came from jumps and throws. And of the boys 66.5, 40.5 came from the two categories.
Freshman Stella Thompson, had a particularly impressive meet, breaking school records for the indoor 60 meter and 200 meter dash. Also, Freshman John Hockersmith broke a school record in the weight throw event.
