Even though Jayne and Carr were not able to qualify, they both had very outstanding seasons.

On Monday, September 8th, Harper Webb traveled to Owensboro to represent the boys golf team in the 2A state championship. He earned his spot after qualifying at Lincoln Homestead, where he shot a 74 to grab the 2nd individual spot.
Webb went up the day before for a practice round to get used to the course. He noticed the greens were very different from what he was used to, but he liked how the course looked overall.
He started his round on hole 10 with two solid pars. The next few holes had some ups and downs. He triple bogeyed, birdied, double bogeyed, and bogeyed. After that stretch, he was 5 over par heading onto hole 16. He held steady for the rest of that nine and finished with a 41 on the back nine.
On the front nine, Webb struggled with keeping each hole consistent and finished with a 44. That left him with a total score of 85 (+13), tying for 40th place. “I am not proud of how I played, but it was a good experience for me. I plan to learn from this and move forward as the region is coming up,” Webb said.
Make sure to wish Harper and the boys golf team good luck as they continue on this season! The boys golf team plays September 23rd at Maywood golf course.
