The Lady Rebels were led by Josie Elliott, who drove in six runs during the win. Elliott came through in several huge moments, including a bases-clearing triple in the third inning and a clutch RBI double in the fifth inning that helped Boyle County regain the lead.
Boyle County got on the board first in the opening inning after Kennedy Helm singled to bring home a run. However, Western Hills exploded in the second inning, scoring eight runs on nine hits to jump ahead 8-1. Big hits from McKinzie Bettencourt, Abby Noble, and Kayce Dunbar helped the Wolverines take control early.
The Lady Rebels answered back in the bottom of the third inning with six runs. Peyton Kelley singled home a run before Elliott cleared the bases with a triple. Miley Finley also added an RBI double during the rally.
After both teams continued trading runs, Boyle County finally grabbed the lead for good in the fifth inning. Elliott doubled down the right field line, Finley added another RBI double, and the Lady Rebels took a 17-15 advantage.

The Boyle County Lady Rebels fell to Anderson County 6-2 on Tuesday. It was a hard game for the Lady Rebels as Mefford got it started early for the Bearcats.

Toll was able to pitch 4 scoreless innings before Boyle tied the game in the fifth. Turner was able to score on a passed ball then Peavler drove in the tying run on a sac fly.
Mefford drove in yet another run in the 6th retaking the lead and then Anderson added another run in the inning. It was too much for the Rebels to handle as Anderson put up 2 in the sixth, and shutting down Boyle in the bottom of the 7th.
Lydia Turner said, “ We played well but Anderson started hitting which was too much for our pitching and defence.” It was a great game for Anderson as they were just too much to handle for Boyle. Good news for Boyle was that Abby Peavler was back on the bump after she had been injured for a few games. Boyle will now play at Nelson County on Thursday.

The Boyle County Lady Rebels had a really strong game against Lincoln County and won 11-0 on Tuesday. One of the biggest reasons they won was because of Abby Peavler, who pitched an amazing game. She had 12 strikeouts and only gave up one hit the whole time. She didn’t allow any runs or walks, which is really impressive.
The game started well for Boyle County when Hadley Russell hit a double in the first inning to score a run. Then, later in the third inning, Josie Elliott got a hit that brought in two more runs, making the lead even bigger.
The biggest moment of the game was in the fifth inning when the Lady Rebels scored six runs. A lot of players helped out, like Mariah Ebert, Lilly Turner, and Abby Peavler, who all got hits to bring in runs. Lydia Turner also helped by grounding out to score one, and Josie Elliott and Kaydance Lay both got walks that brought in runs, too. It was a huge inning and basically ended the game.
Overall, the team had 10 hits. Lydia Turner, Mariah Ebert, and Josie Elliott each had two hits. Turner, Russell, and Elliott also had two RBIs each. The team also did a good job of being patient at the plate and got eight walks. Miley Finley and Abby Peavler both had two walks.
Lincoln County didn’t really get much going and only had one hit the whole game. Boyle County just played better all around.
The Lady Rebels will play Mercer County next, and if they keep playing like this, they should have a good chance to win again.

Last night, the Boyle County High School softball team traveled to Frederick Douglass High School in a last minute face off at 6:30PM. The Rebels were scheduled to play a district matchup against Danville High School but the Admirals canceled due to a lack of girls. Then, Head Coach Brian Deem scheduled a game on the road at Spencer County. However, they canceled as well. The third time must be a charm, because later that day they scheduled Frederick Douglass on the road.
For the first full 3 innings, the Rebels held the Broncos to 0 runs. As a top 20 team, it seemed as if the Broncos were put back by the way the Rebels were playing. Going into the bottom of the 4th, both teams were scoreless.
In the bottom of the 4th, the Broncos scored 1 run off of a solo shot home run to Left Center. The Rebels didn’t let that stop them as they continued fighting to put runners on base.
In the bottom of the 5th, the Rebels gave up 3 more runs off of a 2 run homerun and an error. Unfortunately, at the top of the 6th, the Rebels were not able to manufacture runs.
Things spiraled on defense in the bottom of the 6th where 3 recorded errors caused them to give up 4 more runs. The Rebels remained scoreless in the top of the 7th to end the game, Broncos winning 8-0.
Senior Designated Hitter Paisleigh Conn says, “I feel like we were doing pretty good the first few innings until they were getting hits off of us and I saw how we dropped our heads a bit. However, we never stopped fighting and I couldn’t be any more proud of them than I was last night.”

Mackenzie Shelton doubled to center field, and Addie Cannon singled to center field, each scoring one run. Paisleigh Conn, Havana Maddox, Addie Cannon, and Mackenzie Shelton each collected one hit for Boyle County.
Lydia Turner, a freshman on the softball team says, “We played well but sadly the score did not reflect that. With North Laurel being the state runner up last year we knew we had a big game ahead. We went in strong and Katherine’s pitching kept us in a rhythm. As the game went on we started to let up and lost the momentum we had after their home run.”

Last night, the Boyle County Rebel softball team took on the West Jessamine Colts softball team at home. The girls were coming off of two losses this past weekend and were looking to revive themselves against a regional opponent.
Due to a lack of focus, the Rebels put themselves in a 4 run hole after the first inning. Throughout the whole game, they continued to give up runs on silly errors. However, they showed fight on offense by stringing hits together to produce runs. After the 4th inning, the Rebels were down 5-4.
Unfortunately, during the top of the 6th, the Rebels gave up 4 more runs making the score 10-5, the Colts leading. To respond to that difference, 3-hole-hitter Miley Finley hit a 2-run-bomb to make the score 10-7.
At the end of 7 innings, the Rebels were not able to make up for their overall 6 errors in the field and they ended up losing 13-7.
Junior Miley Finley says, “It was a tough loss. We didn’t lose because we were outplayed. We lost because we beat ourselves. However, lessons were learned.”
