On Wednesday September 23rd, the Girls golf team went to Peninsula to play in the Region 4 tournament. After a great season of fun and great improvement the girls were ready to play at a familiar course.

The top 2 teams and top 10 individuals move on to the next round of the post season play.

Everyone played hard but Addison was the only one that was able to advance to Semi-state. She was able to get the 7th individual qualifying spot. She shot 84(+12).

Going out of regionals she knew a couple things she needed to work on: “My irons were pretty solid but I lost some shots from my drive and my lag putting. I would put myself in tough spots leading me to have a higher number.”

She will compete in the Semi-state tournament on Wednesday September 30, and we wish her the best of luck!!

On Tuesday, September 9th, the girls golf team went to Lincoln Homestead and played Washington County in a 9 hole match. The girls played one of their first tournaments of the season at this course so they have some experience with this course.

It was a very pretty night for golf and the girls are getting in the practice they need before Addison and Elise head to 2A state and the team competes in regionals in a couple weeks. There were some good scores from the match as Boyle took the win over Washington County. Addison Carr had the match low with a 38 and to follow the rest of the top 5 scores were Mackenzie(45), Ellis(47), Ella(49). This gave the girls more confidence going into the post season play as it fastly approached.

Addison and Elise have a big tournament coming up Monday. They will compete in the 2A state tournament Monday down in Owensboro.

On August 31st the girls golf team went to Peninsula and played in a match to prepare for their regional which will be at this course. East, Mercer, DCA, Boyle, and Garrard were all the teams there.

Everyone got a good feel for the back nine last night. DCA’s player Tatum Boyd won the match last night with a solid 41. From Boyle Mackenzie shot a 48 and Elise shot a 45. Good experience last night for our girls.

Mackenzie says “not my best round last night but I am glad we got to go play the back and get a look at it before regionals. I had a couple bad holes but once those get figured out I will be ready to go.”
