At the end of the course, students must be able to perform measurement of distance and distance corrections, proper handling of surveying instruments, elevation determination and leveling. Applying the basic surveying concepts with the aid of surveying instruments will help the students to perform stadia surveying, topographic surveying, triangulation and trilateralization, missing data computation and subdivision of lots. Laying out of horizontal, compound and spiral curves, reserved curve, and mass diagramming are also expected to be tackled before the semester ends.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the students were not able to conduct and experience on-site surveys throughout the course period. Instead, the subject course focused on individual tasks by solving problem sets after modular discussions and conducting individual fieldwork exercises to be presented through organized field reports.
