Hi everyone,
Happy Easter to those who celebrate! It's been a busy weekend for me getting ready to finally have our whole class together tomorrow. I can't wait to see them all together, and I hope they're all excited, too!
Here are some updates for the week:
Arrival and Dismissal: Now that there will be nearly double the amount of students at arrival time, the plan is for third graders to line up on the field to allow for social distancing. They will move to the blacktop to enter the side door once fourth graders have entered. There should be signs and staff outside in the morning telling classes where to go. I will also come downstairs tomorrow to bring everyone up. We will be dismissed out the same door at 2:30 every day!
Monday, 4/5-- Dallin Spirit Wear Day! Rock your blue and gold!
Lunch and Snack: Students will be eating snack and lunch outside every day, unless the weather is bad. All students still have the option to order a free lunch every day through the end of the school year. Please be sure your child is bringing a nut-free snack to school every day along with a reusable water bottle!
Special Materials: If they haven't already, please help to remind your child to bring their recorder back to school tomorrow. Ms. Elmendorf requested them so they can practice during music time. Also, if your child still has their oil pastels in their art kit, it would be great if they could return those as well. Now that we have a full class, we don't have enough in our classroom supply for each student to have their own.
PE on Mondays: Every Monday, our class will have PE. Please let your child know about this so they can dress appropriately and wear/bring sneakers.
Homework: I'm going to let students know that they are highly encouraged to continue working on apps like Dreambox, Lexia Core 5, and Keyboarding Without Tears at home throughout the week. Our district goal is to have each student complete at least 5 lessons on Dreambox and Lexia per week to maintain ongoing review.
That's all for now. I will be updating you as I learn any new information about our full return! See you all bright and early tomorrow! :)
