This month's AACPS HPED "Shout Outs" go to...

Stacey Bell (Severna Park HS) - Stacey took on an American Heart Health Walk for our Health and PE students.  Students had to complete Finns Mission, learning hands only CPR and raising money for kids with speical hearts. We celebrated with an in school field trip/walk for 3rd and 4th period. We were the top earning highschool with over 150 kids participating! ~ Courtney Koehler, Old Mill HS

Sydney Pearson (Old Mill MS - North) - Pearson had a killer dance concert! So much of what she does goes unnoticed but she works so incredibly hard behind the scenes to make everything come together.  ~ Stephanie Shanahan, Old Mill MS - North

Noah Kiehle (Ridgeway ES) - Noah develops lessons and is so creative in presenting each unit to all his students. He decorates his gymnasium like a huge celebration engaging his student from the minute they enter the gymnasium. He sends me videos and continues to amaze me with his ideas. He is a great role model for all teachers and his students are lucky to have him as a teacher. He is the G.O.A.T. of physical education. has been such an amazing coworker and mentor for me.  ~ Jon DeSantos, Edgewater ES

Pam Cole (Old Mill MS - North) - Cole is a rockstar who is always willing to help no matter how busy she is. She has been a huge help with concert prep and clean up. She labeled all of my new costumes and has washed a majority of the costumes worn for the concert. All the clean costumes make the studio smell lovely!  ~ Sydney Pearson, Old Mill MS - North

Tony Jackson-Hood (BPMS), Regan Baker (Bates MS), Stephaen Jackson-Hood (Bates MS), Jamie Renn (SPMS), Sydney Pearson (OMMN), Rachel Scaringe (CBMS), Jordan Darrow (Central MS) & Marina Thompson (Southern MS) - Bravo to the teachers and students for an amazing performance at the MD Middle School Dance Showcase on April 20th! Jess Markiewicz (Arundel HS) - Mrs. Markiewicz works tirelessly on producing two dance concert evenings at Arundel that showcase the many talents of the Dance, Dance for the Athlete, Unified Dance, and Dance Company students. Not only does she produce entertaining concerts, she lets her students show their talents all around the community; from basketball game halftimes, to Baysox game performances, to the Arundel Feeder System Basketball Tournament halftimes, and many other exciting events. Mike Pfisterer (Arundel HS) - Coach Pfisterer was asked to teach 2 brand new Honors courses for the CTE Physical Rehabilitation Completer Program this year. Not only did he do a wonderful job creating lessons that our students would benefit from, he also created a new pathway for students who did not have a completer that fit their needs. Coach Pfisterer is a hard working teacher whose work does not go unnoticed.  ~ Jenny Madden, Arundel HS

Jen Winterling (Lake Shore ES) - Mrs. Winterling makes sure every student feels seen and included. She shows kindness and positive encouragement to every child she teaches. She even made visuals for students in special education on her own so they could be more successful in her class. Mrs. Winterling goes above and beyond and any student that gets to be taught by her is going to walk away a better person! I am thankful my son gets to be taught by someone who shows him patience and how to be a good a teammate. I have seen the skills she teaches in class roll over into my son's life on the sports field. He is a better teammate because of her! ~ Lake Shore ES parent

Carrie Deaver (Pasadena ES) - I want to thank Carrie for always being prepared to make our co-teaching days such a success! I love to bounce ideas off of her and I have learned a lot this school year from the way she structures her classes and how she teaches her lessons. Pam Cole (Old Mill MS - North) - Pam Cole is retiring at the end of this 2025-2026 school year. That means beyond OMMN losing a skilled teacher, the HPED team is losing a huge staple of our department who leaves behind tremendously large shoes to fill. Ms. Cole is one of the most caring, determined, and consistent HPED teachers out there. She strives to make a positive impact on each and every student and build the groundwork needed before they go off to high school. Her highly effective teaching shows us day in and day out how much she cares about her students. Every ounce of energy and time she puts into her day to day does not go unnoticed by her department and peers in general. We truly do wish her the best in all of her future endeavors and hope she knows how deeply missed she will be.  ~ Adam Bellarin, Old Mill MS - North
