It's hard to believe we are one month into the school year! It may not have been the smooth start we had hoped but I know from visiting schools this past September that it's truly wonderful to have students back in person and to see them interact with their peers and our contents.
Thank you for creating welcoming and safe environments for all students where they can engage in our contents!
In an effort to continue to provide communication from our office we have decided to share monthly newsletters in lieu of weekly insights. All newsletters will be housed on this site for easy access!
Brightspace Essentials
Here's a handy reference sheet of key documents to help you better understand Brightspace. These documents were chosen based on the most frequently asked questions OIT has been hearing since the beginning of schools.
OIT has also created a Teacher Toolkit which contains key documents to help you navigate Brightspace. The toolkit includes: Getting Started, Customising your Brightspace, Content & Assignments, Google in Brightspace, Differentiating Materials and Assignments, Class Agenda, and Communication Tools.
Don't forget about Brightspace Office Hours
Daytime- Monday-Friday 12-2:00pm
Evenings-Sunday-Thursday 6:00-8:00 pm
It is important to recognize the many wonderful things that are taking place in AACPS HPED every single day.
Please take a moment to nominate an amazing colleague to be featured in our "Shout Out" section each month!
This month's AACPS HPED "Shout Outs" go to...
Brian Brown, Annapolis High School - "Coach Brown has really stepped up his technological game. Going into his classes I often see the students using video to help them progress. I've witnessed the students video themselves or a partner in various basketball related skill and to evaluate their form and technique." ~ Greg LeGrand
Pere Ludlum, Old Mill Middle South - "It is Pete's 1st year at South but you would never know it. He has jumped in with both feet- developing positive relationships with students and staff. Extremely helpful and available to anybody who needs it. He has taken the initiative to become part of the OMMS team and in a very short time has made himself invaluable!" ~ Lori Darnall
Adam Bellarin - "Awesome team player, has taken the initiative with grading rubrics, does a fantastic job with his students." ~ Pam Cole
