The Voluntary Transfer Process
It's that time of year where we see vacancies and program growth opportunities.
As a professional courtesy, please reach out if you are considering/interested in a change or there is discussion of program growth.
If you choose to participate in the voluntary transfer process, please be sure to visit HR navigator to apply for open positions. You should begin to regularly check the portal in March. Don’t rely on the notifications you set to alert you to vacancies that you might be interested in pursuing – I’ve been told they are not reliable.
Unit I positions for the 2024-2025 school year may be advertised online starting Wednesday, March 1. As positions become available, they are posted for five (5) days. Interested applicants should go to the employee intranet and click on “Internal Vacancies” under Hot Links. As of Feb 5, 2024, PowerSchool has updated their Candidate Portal log in experience. Although you may already have an applicant profile, you will need to click sign up and enter the email address you have used for your existing applicant profile. This is a one-time action.
Important Dates
March 1- Voluntary Transfer process begins
April 15- Resignation deadline for Unit I 10-month employees in order to retain benefits through August
May 1- Non-tenured resignation deadline
July 1- Tenured resignation deadline
July 31- Voluntary Transfer process ends
If you are non-tenured and wish to be able to explore other transfer opportunities in AACPS, you must get permission from HR to do so. Here is the form to complete: Request to Participate in Voluntary Transfer Process (Unit 1 Non-Tenured Employee).pdf
