THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO!!!
As another year comes to a close, and we prepare for well deserved summer, we wanted to say thank you for all you provided your students every day in your classrooms. There are many students who come to school every day because of YOU so please know we VALUE all that you provide and APPRECIATE the work you do every day.
It is important to recognize the many wonderful things that are taking place in AACPS HPED every single day.
Please take a moment to nominate an amazing colleague to be featured in our "Shout Out" section each month!
This month's AACPS HPED "Shout Outs" go to...
Morgan Duly (Northeast MS) - Ms. Duly has stood out this year with innovative lessons, including activities that students have been asking for but others may have been timid to teach. NMS is lucky to have Coach Duly not only as an HPED team member but also as one of the leaders of our girls' soccer team. Ryan Urby (Northeast MS)
Marcus Davis (Seven Oaks ES) - It has been a pleasure working with Mr.Davis this year. He is easy to work with and has plenty of new ideas. Co-teaching the "roller coaster" classes that we have together has been a breeze. Thanks for your support. Corey Masson (Annapolis ES/Seven Oaks ES)
Hannah Schauber (Old Mill Middle North) - She's an absolute "Swiss army knife" for any HPED Department. She is one of the most reliable first year teachers I have had the pleasure of working with. She is always willing to help when needed and not shy around getting involved with any of the extra curriculars we have in a middle school that may never make it to our time sheets. I'm so happy to have this human on MY team. Keep up the great work, and looking forward to next school year! Adam Bellarin (Old Mill Middle North)

Summer PD Opportunities
The Voluntary Transfer Process
It's that time of year where we see vacancies and program growth opportunities.
As a professional courtesy, please reach out to us if you are considering/interested in a change or there is discussion of program growth.
If you choose to participate in the voluntary transfer process, please be sure to visit HR navigator to apply for open positions. You should begin to regularly check the portal in March. Don’t rely on the notifications you set to alert you to vacancies that you might be interested in pursuing – I’ve been told they are not reliable.
Unit I positions for the 2025-2026 school year are advertised now on HR Navigator. As positions become available, they are posted for five (5) days. Interested applicants should go to the employee intranet and click on “Internal Vacancies” under Hot Links.
Important Dates
March 1- Voluntary Transfer process begins
April 15- Resignation deadline for Unit I 10-month employees in order to retain benefits through August
May 1- Non-tenured resignation deadline
July 1- Tenured resignation deadline
July 31- Voluntary Transfer process ends
If you are non-tenured and wish to be able to explore other transfer opportunities in AACPS, you must Request to Participate in Voluntary Transfer Process (Unit 1 Non-Tenured Employee).pdf and receive approval from HR before you can apply.
For more information, you may reference the Unit 1 Hiring Memo sent on 2/25/25.
