April showers ☔ bring May flowers 🌼!
With spring break behind us and only 44 days left of the 2022-2023 school year, we welcome the warmer weather and opportunities to take our students outside for fresh air or put the finishing touches on our end of quarter/semester/year choreography and projects.
We look forward to seeing you as you tackle this last quarter and make our way to the end of the school year! Keep up the great work and please let us know if you need anything at all!

Upcoming Professional Development Offerings
It is important to recognize the many wonderful things that are taking place in AACPS HPED every single day.
Please take a moment to nominate an amazing colleague to be featured in our "Shout Out" section each month!
This month's AACPS HPED "Shout Outs" go to...
Kreghan Rebstock-Lane - A.K.A. Coach, Rebstock, Rebby ~ Rebstock has been crushing it this semester; being a great leader in the PE department! She's been showing the student's how it's done in Team Sports Soccer, and introducing new warm up games and team sports like Tchoukball and Boccer to her classes. ~ Marissa Neumann
Carra Blair - Ms. Blair is the most decorated athlete in our school community. She is a very dedicated teacher. Often spending hours after school communicating to students and their families on how to have success in her classroom. She comes to work each and every day and gives her absolute best effort. She raises the level of professionalism in our department. She is the role model for us all to look up to as teachers. We love having her as a member of our Meade HPED community! ~ Kyle Harmon
Melanie Papaleonti - Thank you for letting Odenton borrow your equipment, my students had a great time and it wouldnt have happened without your help! :) ~ Christine Lunsford
Sara White - Great job collaborating with our AVID teacher to create school-wide March Madness brackets. Each advisory created a bracket and followed each game. Sara also created a massive bracket that was displayed in the gym and updated after each game. Students really enjoyed seeing the updates in real time and got all students talking about the colleges and showing interest in all of the games. ~ Lauren Tuozzo

The Voluntary Transfer Process
It's that time of year where we see vacancies and program growth opportunities.
As a professional courtesy, please reach out if you are considering/interested in a change or there is discussion of program growth.
If you choose to participate in the voluntary transfer process, please be sure to visit HR navigator to apply for open positions. You should begin to regularly check the portal in March. Don’t rely on the notifications you set to alert you to vacancies that you might be interested in pursuing – I’ve been told they are not reliable.
March 1- Voluntary Transfer process begins
April 15- Resignation deadline for Unit I 10-month employees in order to retain benefits through August
May 1- Non-tenured resignation deadline
July 1- Tenured resignation deadline
July 31- Voluntary Transfer process ends
If you are non-tenured and wish to be able to explore other transfer opportunities in AACPS, you must get permission from HR to do so. Here is the form to complete: Request to Participate in Voluntary Transfer Process (Unit 1 Non-Tenured Employee).pdf
