Winter is coming! As the weather turns from fall to winter and germs spread indoors, please take advantage of your outdoor learning spaces to provide fresh air and distance. We know the flu, RSV, and COVID are on the rise as well as the common cold. Remind your students to dress appopriately and take advantage of your outdoor classroom as others in your building don't have that luxury. Please make sure you take care of yourselves and your teams. As always, do not hesitate to reach out and we will do what we can to lend a helping hand!
This month's edition of the HPED Newsletter is packed with content and substance. Please take your time to read through each area and let us know if you have any questions or if there is other information you'd like us to include each month.

Jeremy Caruso, North County High School - Jeremy goes above and beyond his regular duties. He has been extremely helpful supporting our new teachers. Having taught a variety of classes, he has great insight and is a valuable resource. He also has outstanding relationships with his students. ~ Nic Cosentino
Pete Ludlam, Old Mill Middle School South - Pete is one of the most knowledgeable teachers I know. He is great with kids, designs dialed lessons and is a great team player! Every school needs a Mr. Ludlam in it! ~ Linda Chandler
Austin Eagle, Arundel High School - Eagle has been a valuable member of the health crew this semester. He looks at the lessons and activities with a positive perspective and adds engaging ideas to the mix. He is open with his students and provides several real-world examples to his classroom discussions. He fits right in and always looks to collaborate to do what's best for all of our students. We are fortunate to have his help. He doesn't even blush anymore when we talk about Sex Ed : ) ~ Kristin Bowser
Todd Sommerville, Crofton High School - Mr. Sommerville is the definition of professionalism. He has set solid routines in his classes, demonstrates preparedness on a daily basis, is always ready and willing to help others, and leads by example both in the classroom and with additional responsibilities. In addition, he helped guide a student teacher this fall all while excelling at his Head Football Coaching responsibilities.~ Tim Stedman
Laura Barrett, Crofton Middle School - Laura did an amazing job planning Crofton Middle School's First Annual Turkey Trot Run! All students ran a mile through their PE classes and donated non-perishable food items throughout the week to be donated to Anne Arundel County's food bank right before Thanksgiving.
