This month's AACPS HPED "Shout Outs" go to...
Amanda Weisgerber (Annapolis HS) - Amanda is not only our DC but the most amazing person, she truly cares about each of her coworkers. She will check in with us regularly and make sure that we are set to go for all classes (health, PE, you name it!) I love working with her! ~ Hannah Akers
Maleah Sims (Brooklyn Park MS) - Maleah is new to the HPED family and has been an awesome addition to the dance program at BPMS! She is open-minded, organized and eager to grow! She has done a great job with building relationships with her students while also holding them to high standards! She deserves a shout out for sure! Great work! ~ Tony Jackson
Jessica Markiewicz (Arundel HS) - Mrs. Markiewicz was willing to give her extra laptop to a coworker during our HPED PD this year because his wasn't working correctly. Just another small example of how Mrs. Markiewicz is always willing to do kind acts. ~ Jenny Madden
Mike Pfisterer (Arundel HS) - Coach Pfisterer consistently demonstrates a strong work ethic and a genuine eagerness to grow as an educator. This year, he was given a full schedule that included three brand-new courses he had never taught before. Rather than simply doing the minimum, Coach Pfisterer embraces every challenge by utilizing a wide range of resources, bringing creativity into his lessons, and making each class engaging and enjoyable for his students. He is a bright presence in the HPED department, known for his positivity, dedication, and commitment to following protocols with excellence. ~ Jenny Madden
Melissa Bell (Broadneck HS) - Melissa is leading a school wide staff dance for our Homecoming Pep Rally this year. Her willingness to gather staff together from around the school and provide video tutorials to teach them the dance, exhibits school spirit and community above and beyond! ~ Melissa Quigley
Matt Skrenchuk (Broadneck HS) - Matt provided professional development for staff outside our department at Broadneck about community building and get to know you activities to enhance their understanding of the importance of adding activities into their routine throughout the school year. ~ Melissa Quigley
Victoria Alexander & Katie McDevitt (Meade HS) - So happy to have you with us at Meade! You have both contributed great suggestions to improve lessons and your positive enthusiasm is contagious. Go Mustangs! ~ Bryan McNamara
Christiana Walsh (Central Office) - Mrs. Walsh stopped by one of my part- time schools and noticed that I was struggling because two special friends did not have an aide with them on this day and were disrupting our class. She jumped right in and helped to get them focused on an activity so that I could get the rest of the students started on the activity. She was a life saver! Thank you for the hands- on leadership and for the support you consistently provide! ~ Jenn Winterling

Social Media Shares and Reminders:
The Office of Communications has also asked everyone to not take pictures of students we know do not have permission to publicly post. You should not blur or place emojis over students' faces when we are not sure if they have permission. Unless you know for sure that a student’s family has given permission- do not post photos/videos. Front office staff at your school, most likely the principal’s secretary, can print a report for you of students who do not have permission to be posted on social media.
This year’s hashtags are #AACPSFamily & #BelongGrowSucceed.
