As another year comes to a close, and prepare for we well deserved summer, we wanted to say thank you for your continued efforts to make AACPS HPED GREAT!! This year has been more normal than years past and we are starting to see things get back to where they once were before the pandemic. We have leared a lot and have applied some great new things to our teaching. Keep up the great work!
We look forward to seeing your smiling faces, after you have taken this summer to relax and recharge, at our annual Fall HPED August PD which will be held IN PERSON on August 21st at Severna Park High School.
Please mark your calendars and get ready for some awesome professional learning 😊
We are still gathering session proposals so that we can continue our conference style professional development format. Please fill out the August 20223Presenter Session Proposal Form and share your successes and ideas with your colleagues!
As the weather gets warmer and you begin to take your students outside, please remember the following helpful reminders to ensure safety for all.
HELPFUL REMINDERS:
Communication: As the weather turns and you begin to take students outside, you must be able to communicate to the front office and nursing staff. Please be sure you have a protocol in place to ensure the front office and/or nurse can communicate with you and you with them (a walkie is the best means of communication whenever possible).
Health Room Escorts: In the event that a student needs to access the health room to see the school nurse, please make sure they have an escort to ensure they safely arrive. Whether you are sending them from your classroom or from outside, it is always recommended that an escort walk with the student to ensure no problems arise on the way.

The Voluntary Transfer Process
It's that time of year where we see vacancies and program growth opportunities.
As a professional courtesy, please reach out if you are considering/interested in a change or there is discussion of program growth.
If you choose to participate in the voluntary transfer process, please be sure to visit HR navigator to apply for open positions. You should begin to regularly check the portal in March. Don’t rely on the notifications you set to alert you to vacancies that you might be interested in pursuing – I’ve been told they are not reliable.
March 1- Voluntary Transfer process begins
April 15- Resignation deadline for Unit I 10-month employees in order to retain benefits through August
May 1- Non-tenured resignation deadline
July 1- Tenured resignation deadline
July 31- Voluntary Transfer process ends
If you are non-tenured and wish to be able to explore other transfer opportunities in AACPS, you must get permission from HR to do so. Here is the form to complete: Request to Participate in Voluntary Transfer Process (Unit 1 Non-Tenured Employee).pdf
