General Restrictions
There are several general restriction types that processors need to be aware of:
Closed material: This material is permanently closed to research use. This type differs from most general restriction types, where material is inaccessible for a period time before being open to researchers.
Extreme fragility or condition: Access to material may be prohibited due to condition or, in the case of audiovisual materials, a lack of playback equipment. In such cases, the Bentley will attempt to make a digitized surrogate available.
Reading-Room Only: In the case of digital materials where copyright has not been transferred to the Bentley or other rights issues prevent widespread online dissemination, access will be limited to the IP address range of the Bentley Reading Room.
