This section is intended to help archivists troubleshoot common Removable Media Workstation (RMW) problems. If other questions or troubleshooting concerns arise please seek help from the Archivist for Digital Curation.
Problem: You don't see instructions for the particular type of removable media in your accession (common examples include Digital Audio Tapes [DATs] and tape drives).
Solution: Talk with the Archivist for Digital Curation. Typically, we'll record item-level extent statements (as in the Audiovisual Extent guidelines) to aid our ability to inventory these items at a later date (e.g., when we obtain a reader for that type of media or identify a vendor to transfer it). For important collections, however, we may explore alternative and more immediate means of transferring content from the media.
Problem: Exactly fails on the "Preparing to send notification email(s)..." step, instructing you to contact "support."
Solution: It's likely that Exactly successfully bagged and copied your transfer. You'll just need manually let the Archivist for Digital Curation know that your transfer is ready for Archivematica's backlog.
Manually notify (via email) the Archivist for Digital Curation that your transfer is ready for Archivematica's backlog. Include the Accession ID in the email.
