Creating the Project Folder
Once a processor has been assigned a processing project, they will need to create a project folder to house documents associated with that project.
This folder will eventually be housed in a folder on one of the Bentley's network drives and its documents will generally include:
Different versions of finding aids associated with the processing project.
Completed MARC record forms that processors will fill out that the Lead Archivist for Collections Management will use to create or update a collection's MARC record in the University of Michigan Library's online catalog.
A processing plan describing how the accession(s) in this project will be processed.
Other documents used to arrange and/or describe archival material.
Consult the Pre-Processing checklist from the Processing Team Trello board (internal link) for specific tasks and guidance in creating this folder.
