Missing Archival Objects
There are occasions where staff discover that an instance of an archival object (e.g., a file, box, etc.) is missing.
When this happens, Curation staff should take the following steps while Reference staff locate the material:
Add a "General" note to the archival object(s) stating the object is missing as well as when it was discovered missing.
Uncheck the 'Published' box in the Basic Information section of the archival object(s).
Add a new revision statement to the resource record noting that the missing archival object(s) is unpublished.
Notify the Lead Archivist for Collections Management so that the finding aid can be exported.
