Class Notes:
We are entering the home stretch now with less than 4 weeks of school left; the final countdown will be here before you know it!
Please note next weekend is a long weekend (Memorial Day) and we will have no school next Monday, May 27th.
This week we will...
Continue our Research clubs reading unit; we will research another animal species and compare/contrast characteristics of both animals.
Finish writing our first fairy tale adaptations based on the Three Billy Goats Gruff
Continue Fundations Unit 13: ch, ph and silent letter combinations
Continue Unit 7 on two-dimensional shapes and perimeter
Finish up our unit in Science on energy and electricity and start our new Earth Science unit "Weathering and Erosion"
Participate in classroom fort day and school-wide field day
Attend an Earth Science program led by the Acton Discovery Museum
Learn about hereditary traits from some Needham High School AP Bio students who will teach a lesson to our class
Fort Day on Friday--your help needed!
We are hoping to make a giant fort in our classroom on Friday. Fort Day is one of 19 special activities the students have earned this year. Ask your 3rd grader all about our WOW board. We need your help to make Fort Day a success! If possible, please send in 1 clean, flat sheet before Friday (King or Queen ideal but smaller ones will also work). Please label your sheet with a piece of painter's tape so that they get back to the right family. Thanks for your help making this the best fort possible for the kids!
Field Day
We will have our school-wide "Field Day" on Thursday of this week. Students should feel free to wear their Mitchell t-shirts if they wish!
