November, 2013 Principal's Report

· We are in the process of gathering information relative to families in need, to give out Thanksgiving baskets throughout the school community – Bolton, Lancaster, Stow. This is sponsored by the Girls and Boys Scouts for more than 20 years now

· ACT/SOS – Signs and signals of depression, risk factors, etc. – The staff worked with the eighth graders on this activity and lots of good information has been gathered and/or shared

· Bus evacuations took place in both wings of our campus on two separate days

· Golden Eagle Assemblies took place in October with a new technological format thanks to Mary Fitch – November Golden Eagle Assemblies take place this Friday

· The new playground groundbreaking ceremony took place last week

· The Spaghetti Supper is tonight

· Community Reading Day took place last week (30 members of the community were scheduled)

· Parent Teacher Conferences took place last week

· Field trips in grade four have been rescheduled due to the governmental shut down

· Cross-country finished the season strong with a great showing at States

· Basketball – Boys and Girls – Tryouts will be taking place very soon

· Some of our eighth graders attended Minuteman for a site visit

· The presidential elections – Y and Z party took place last week

· School Picture Day (retakes) are December 3rd

· The 7th and 8th graders had a wonderful Halloween dance weeks ago

· Mrs. Salvucci retired last week – She will be very missed by the staff

· PLUS Classes continue each and every F Day

· Grade three (two classes) made up their field trip miss due to the governmental shutdown

· PAC Bingo takes place on Friday, November 22nd

· December 6th – The first trimester ends

· December 13th – Report cards are issued

· The preschool went apple picking weeks ago

· The long-term substitute has been hired for Mrs. Walsh’s maternity leave - A transition and plan are underway
