Why are students are being sent to random Nearpod lessons?
If this is happening, it is likely because your student is using the Nearpod app rather than the Safari browser to access the lesson. Have your student delete the Nearpod app and access lessons only using Safari from now on. Note: If a student has the app downloaded on their iPad, a link to a Nearpod lesson will automatically open the lesson in the Nearpod app.
Why are random students joining my Nearpod lessons?
This seems to be happening to a lot of teachers. Nearpod is aware of this issue. There does not seem to be a way to completely prevent this from happening, so we suggest the following:
Monitor who joins your lessons regularly and delete unknown students. How to Delete a Student from a Nearpod Lesson (video)
Turn on the feature that requires students to be logged in with their Google account. This feature enables student names to autofill which is a nice feature that will make it so students won't need to type in their own name when they join a lesson. Here are directions explaining how to turn on this feature.
Do students have their own Nearpod accounts?
At this time, students do not have accounts, only teachers have accounts. In the fall Nearpod will be releasing a new student account feature.
Are there resources to help families understand Nearpod?
How can I learn more about using Nearpod?
