Display Settings

When you plug in a projector to your laptop, the projector may appear as a blank desktop.

That is because the displays setting is on the side-by-side (multiple screens) setting.

In order to have the projector show the same thing that is on your laptop,

simply hold down the command key and press the F1 key.

This will change the display settings to mirroring.

Press the keys again, and it changes back to side-by-side setting.

Apple Menu > System Preferences... > Displays
