Is Microsoft Office on the new computer?

No, but Microsoft 365 can be accessed at office.com by signing in with your EUSD account. 

Is Firefox on the new computer?

Yes. Firefox can be found in the Applications folder. You can drag it to the Dock to get to it easier in the future.

Is Google Chrome on the new computer?

Yes. Google Chrome can be found in the Applications folder. You can drag it to the Dock to get to it easier in the future.

What will I receive?

We have purchased the best possible laptop we could to ensure maximum performance and longevity.

Eligible staff will receive the following equipment:

• 2022 MacBook Pro

• Power adaptor

• Multi-port dongle (to connect to projectors, TVs, Ethernet, and older USB devices) - Upon request

Can I put stickers on my new laptop?

You may not affix anything to the new laptop (stickers, decals, jewels, etc.).  Anything stuck to the laptop reduces the price we get at auction.

You can use a personally owned snap-on case if you wish.

Can I purchase my old laptop?

Due to education code, we must put the old equipment up for public auction and cannot sell back to staff.  We will be using the proceeds towards the new laptop lease.

What happens with my old laptop?

We will collect the old laptops at the time of exchange for a new laptop. Due to education code, we must put the old equipment up for public auction and cannot sell back to staff.  We will be using the proceeds towards the new laptop lease

How do I backup/transfer data from my old laptop to my new one?

You will need to back up data from your old laptop that you wish to save and/or transfer.

Will the data on old laptop be erased?

Yes. A third-party will be erasing all the laptop hard drives as part of the buy-back agreement. If you want, you can put files in the Trash and empty the Trash before turning in your laptop.

How will the laptops be distributed?

The laptops will be distributed at your school site. You will be notified through email with details regarding which day your school will be receiving the new laptops.
