Institutional Data

The information provided below is intended to assist departments undergoing program review. During the review process, there are often questions about SCH and tuition earnings, as well as annual departmental expenses. The documents provided below are intended to help provide scope for those departmental reports, and they have been selected based on the FAQs that we receive in the Dean's Office.

Planning, Analysis and Institutional Research (PAIR) Factbook

UAF Employee Trend Report 2016 - 2020 (OMB)

UAF 2019 Annual Budget Report          (see page 4)

Internal CLA Data

The FY13-FY21 Data & Pivot table file provided below shows the budget, revenue and expenditures for all of CLA's departments from FY16-FY21 (AY15-16 through AY19-20). There are slicers provided at the top to select the department and the year(s) that you would like to see. Note that the FY21 data is included mostly as additional reference regrding your current operating budget, as FY21 is not included in the actual review period.

The second file is designed so that a department can enter their earned student credit hours from the PAIR factbook to automatically calculate the department's overall tuition earnings, as well as the amount distributed back to CLA. That sheet includes data for AY15-16 through AY19-20, as AY20-21 is still in progress.

To assure full functionality of the tables included in the files, both files below should be downloaded to your computer and opened as an Excel workbook.

Delaware Cost study Report (2019)

The Delaware Cost Study report is provided to he college by PAIR, and although they are generally a few years out of date due to the scope of the metrics, the information provided is based on a three year summary, in this case FY15-FY17,  and that time does overlap into the period being used for the current program review. The data provided is very detailed, and there are four pages of information provided for each program/department. The first page shows a three year summary of majors and a one-year snapshot (2016-2017) of instructional course load; the second page provides the student credit hour data as well as the direct expenditures associated with instruction for 2016-2017; the third page shows another three-year summary, this time of the distribution of SCHs by course level and faculty type, as well as a very nice summary of the ratios derived from all of this data and how those compare to peer institutions; the fourth page shows some bar graphs with percentile markings to show an easy comparison of the total costs for our departments vs. our peer institutions.

The second document provided below is a scatter plot chart that shows how each department's cost per student credit hour compares to other CLA programs, the UAF averages, and the average cost per SCH of our peer institutions.

Note that you will need to search the document (ctrl+f) for the four pages allocated to your specific department and/or program.
