Sabbatical Leave

The procedures and eligibility criteria are outlined in Article 16.6 of the UNAC CBA.

Deadline:

• Applications for AY24-25 sabbatical leave must be submitted by October 18, 2023 (Available in August 2023) .

• AY22-23 Sabbatical Reports Year Sabbatical, and Spring 2023 Sabbatical must be submitted by November 13, 2023via Sabbatical Leave Report Form (DocuSign)

  • • • A written report detailing the professional activities and accomplishments for which the leave was granted and specifying the sources and amounts of additional funds secured for this period shall be submitted by the recipient to the chancellor, or designee, within three (3) months after returning from leave. 

Guidelines:

For Faculty, if you are eligible and choose to apply, the following are the guidelines for applying:

1. Complete a Sabbatical Leave Application (LINK AVAILABLE IN AUGUST 2023).

2. A confirmation email will be automatically sent to you once you submit your application via Google form.

3. IMPORTANT: Please keep this email confirmation and print it to PDF document. You will need this document to submit in the DocuSign Powerform. An example of the email confirmation is located here.

4. The Office of the Provost will initiate a DocuSign Powerform that will collect additional documents, and signatures. The Powerform will also include the optional (if needed) Sabbatical leave funding form.

5. You will receive an email from DocuSign to finalize your sabbatical application form. You will be required to upload the following documents:

   1. The confirmation email from your Sabbatical Leave Application Form (see #3).

   2. A copy of your current Curriculum Vitae.

   3. Documentation indicating arrangements with cooperating institutions, individuals, agencies, etc., or include a statement explaining the plan to secure such arrangements or why it is not necessary.
